I have added all the books read by other teams to our spreadsheet. I have the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society, which was read by Lavalicious Readers for #9. It has some S characters and an I.

I added your book and reason, Carmen.

I finished my two books. Finally, some decent reads, both 4 stars.

Dang, it ends tomorrow. This French is kicking my butt. I almost have Shady Lady finished. I'm glad I didn't go for 3!

Is it good? It was on the list of books we could choose from in my junior year but I chose all gothic stuff. Guess my reading tastes were already taking hold. 🙄 I have to dedicate myself to classics otherwise I will never finish them.

Then you should. I've only just recently bought mine. Well, about a year or two ago. I will gladly use the time to read for another challenge. 😅 I'm a little bit behind on some.

I'll tentatively take 1. that is on the Foreign Lands list. I'm not the speediest reader but I have one of the books on that list, The Good Earth. As long as the countdown lasts a week I think I can get those three in time.

I can also take 4. from an author who was NOT born in the USA, Canada or UK, I've had L'Étranger hanging around for a long time.

Can I claim 2. with one or more flowers on the cover, I have to read this for another challenge.

I won't get LotR finished in time. I read like 10 pages, realised that I wouldn't do be able to finish it before Monday, and stopped. I'm going to try to save it for another task. So it'll just be the three for sz3.

I'm going to try to fit in The Fellowship of the Ring. It's due back at the library on the 10th. So hopefully some of the letters will work.

Plethora I have Friend Zoned and can get in Underneath it All, and can get in Kindred by Octavia E. Butler for an O before Sunday.

On the plane I plan on reading Friend-Zoned and Underneath It All orIt Ain't Me, Babe which will hopefully apply to sz3.

I'm glad your daughter is feeling better.

I started to copy over the countdown books read by the other groups. I had to quit when it started to go haywire, so I didn't get them all finished. I have my grandma's 81st bday tomorrow, so I won't be around at all, unless late at night. Family comes from all over, sometimes it's bigger than Thanksgiving.
Sunday and Monday will be my last days with my family, so my checking in will be patchy. If y'all need to decide things or claim tasks. Don't wait for me, I'll take whatever's left.
I'll be back in jolly old England on Tuesday and my reading will go back to normal.

I will have The Bluest Eye done by tonight. I thought it would be like Beloved, which was deep but also a quick read, but it's not. Plus, I'm with my family I only see every two years (there's real downsides living across an ocean), so I can only read at night in bed. But I'm nearly done.
