Lol, too true.

I'm glad your daughter is feeling better.

35559 I started to copy over the countdown books read by the other groups. I had to quit when it started to go haywire, so I didn't get them all finished. I have my grandma's 81st bday tomorrow, so I won't be around at all, unless late at night. Family comes from all over, sometimes it's bigger than Thanksgiving.
Sunday and Monday will be my last days with my family, so my checking in will be patchy. If y'all need to decide things or claim tasks. Don't wait for me, I'll take whatever's left.
I'll be back in jolly old England on Tuesday and my reading will go back to normal.

35559 I hope your little one feels better soon. ☹️
I will have The Bluest Eye done by tonight. I thought it would be like Beloved, which was deep but also a quick read, but it's not. Plus, I'm with my family I only see every two years (there's real downsides living across an ocean), so I can only read at night in bed. But I'm nearly done.

Absolutely. I just saw that there wasn't a claim to #5, so thought I'd offer.

35559 I have Texas Secrets, which works for #5 but I won't likely have it finished until Friday. I will have Bluest eye done by tonight or tomorrow morning (cst). So it's really whether someone else thinks they'll get it done before Friday. I think if someone can, then go for it. Otherwise, I've got it queued up on my brand new fancy kindle.
It's so great, this new kindle. My old kindle, which I loved, was the one with the keyboard that didn't have back-lighting. I never knew what I was missing.

That's why I had originally chosen LotR but fortunately noticed the exception. 😊

35559 I was going to read The Fellowship of the Ring for #6 but I'm going to go with The Little Prince instead cos it's like 60 pages. So I can get in another. My #2 book is The Bluest Eye which is also rather short. I wil be happy to read for another of the other tasks. I have chosen one for each of them.

35559 I’m really sorry that y’all had to wait on me for safe zone 2, that you had to stop reading so many books for sz3, and for only contributing one book to sz3. Even though I’m still on vacation I should be able to get back on track and read more. Especially as I have been given a new kindle fire.😊
Anyway, sorry again that you three had to carry the last stage.

35559 I’m in a car driving through Iowa and my phone is foreign. Can someone add my book to the spreadsheet because I can’t access it right now. I won’t get to a place with WiFi for another 5 hours? Thank you to anyone who can.

35559 I don't have much left of the offer. Does the time end when the next round begins?

35559 Sorry life is taking over. I thought I’d get a bit more reading done on the flight, it was over eighth hours, but the attendants asked us to close the window. So the only lights I had was the overhead one and it sucked. So I mostly played games and listened to music. Now I’m driving from SD to IL for the weekend and, again, don’t know how much reading I’m going to get done. I may only be able to finish The Offer. I will try to get another in but I haven’t no idea what letters we need.

35559 I'll take
6 from the 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die List. For this task, you can use books that would otherwise not be allowable for the challenge (e.g. due to wordcount or genre)
2 written by an African American author

35559 I'm about to get on a flight. I will soon be in US central time, which might coincide with you all more. I will get an O book on the plane. I have also started The Wrath and the Dawn, sadly no Os but if you coordinate another word this may be able to fit.
My O book will either be The Offer or Insider. I think with my super long travel time, I'll probably get in two. Whatever I read, I will just make sure I've got Os.

35559 No country for old men might take me until Thursday. I'm on holiday from Thursday and it's quite busy until then. But i will have an entire transatlantic flight to read. So if I haven't finished No Country by Wednesday night. I'll try to get it posted as soon I land.
It is not a thick book but it is Cormac McCarthy. I've also started The Terranauts.

35559 I can't find any book with "LAVA" in it that also has red writing. I went through all the books in my house. I have hundreds of physical books and not a single one fit. I don't have KU but I've got 3000+ books on my kindle, and am going through them. This could take bit.
