The following main labors are completed!

Quite a few of the incomplete labors only have one book left to read in them. We are doing great!"

Do we get more bonus options with all those complete?

35559 In a Strange City (Tess Monaghan, #6) by Laura Lippman
by Laura Lippman

Task: Labor 8 - Find the Jade Key - Read a book about a treasure hunter.
How it fits: Book is about an "antique scout", who is essentially trying to discover valuable antiques at flea markets, furniture left out on the corner, etc, like searching for antique treasuers

35559 I have a book that I think can work for the treasure hunter - it's about an "antique scout", so he goes around looking for antique "treasures".

Can this work for a gold object on the cover? The dress or the dog collars? They're gold-colored, not gold material so wasn't sure if that would fit.

I am leaving now for an all day bike ride, so I won't be checking the thread. I'll return about 6pm EST.
Happy reading!"

Wow, that sounds intense! Very impressive!

35559 Thanks! I think the book I finished today works best for one of the main labor tasks, so I'll put it down there for now, but that helps for planning for the next one!

35559 The Progeny

35559 Couple questions for the captains....

Once we're done with our 2 main tasks, does it make more sense to finish out other tasks so we can complete a main labor and get those extra points? Or just do the bonus tasks? Or just depend on the book itself, what it fits best?

For the bonus tasks, are we supposed to find one book that fits all three tasks? Or one book per task?

Thanks!

35559 Yay new games! And so cool to see we did so well in the last round, hopefully we're on a roll and can keep that going this round!

I've got two books in the works that I can definitely finish tomorrow. There are so many options for each of them, so I can be flexible if someone wants these labors!

Odd Hours
- Labor 6: character is psychic. Odd sees disaster in advance and uses psychic magnetism to stop it
(could also use the one where someone's name is in the title)

Shattered
- Labor 12: someone injured severely. Granuaile has nearly every bone in her body broken in an attack.

35559 For the new square, you can use Paper and Fire for the brain, it's all about The Library and debates on how best to handle and control knowledge.

Reconstructing Amelia can work for the skull and crossbones. Someone dies in the very beginning, and it's all about secret clubs, like the Skull and Bones secret society.

35559 Oh I am so excited for DTWS too! agree the cast is a bit odd (Rick Perry, what??) but I feel like my favorites always end up being people I wasn't familiar with in advance

I'm in Washington DC, and basically we're just writing a lot of papers for the White House and Congress, describing how things have changed in the world of terrorism and where it's going to go. I'm an editor, so I get to review all the papers which all have to be done by today! It is crazy it's been 15 years already.

I've been using Hoopla, and putting it at 1.25 speed, so it's slightly faster, but not as fast as I could read it. I really only listen on my commute, so that's probably the problem, this is the only time ever that I'll say my commute is too short :)

Looks like everything's going well, sorry I haven't been of much use this round! Work has been crazy lately getting ready for the 9/11 anniversary. But I'm excited to see the next game!

It was really good! I listened to the audiobook, which was frustrating sometimes because it feels so much slower than reading, but it was really exciting and definitely kept you guessing the whole time. definitely recommend it if you like thrillers or psychological fiction!
