Sorry my numbers are short again, I didn't realize a bunch of the books I finished were started before the challenge so I couldn't use them. I likely won't get anything else in before the end of the round.I will try to do better in the last 2 rounds since I've come in so short the first 2 rounds. Life has seriously messed up my reading for the challenge this time around.
Got one of my books added to the sheet & Goodreads. I'll get the rest tomorrow or Friday, haven't had a chance to sit down and mark everything yet.
Sorry I haven't popped in for a bit! Work has been really busy recently as we head into the last couple months of the year and I haven't had as much time as I normally would to get on here. I do have a few completed books, just need to update Goodreads still which I will do later tonight or tomorrow.

The Fiona Carver books are pretty great! The author used to be an archaeologist so those parts of the books are really good since she actually has experience in it.
Some of her other books also follow archeologists or fields connected to archaeology. I've read some of the Evidence and Evidence: Under Fire series which both do and enjoyed those as well.
I didn't read a ton but Crash Site by Rachel Grant was my favorite (2nd book in the Fiona Carver series). It's a great romantic suspense with a bunch of archeology stuff so what's not to love? Also really enjoyed Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas (3rd in the Wallflowers series).

I just finished one book, I need to update GR still. And I think I'll get another done before the deadline though it will be a little close.
Sorry I haven't checked in for a bit. I woke up Saturday morning to a water leak in the house so have mostly been dealing with that for the last few days (who knew water could ruin so many things?). So I haven't really been able to read the last few days so my round 1 book count may come in a bit short. I'm still hoping to finish a few books before the end of the round though.
I bought a copy of The Spellshop today while I was at Target getting Halloween candy so I'm ready to go when November 2nd gets here.
I'm a little behind on my reading so far as I have some books I started before the challenge that I'm working on finishing up. I've been trying to alternate them with challenge books and I'm hoping to binge some cozies this weekend for Turf Wars so I should get some finished that will work for this challenge.

This is one of my favorites from her, I hope you enjoy it!
Completely missed that the year thing was part of the drop down, that's good to know. One more question for tonight because I forget what NBRC's rules for this are.
How does it work for a character who is only referred to by their title? Can I use their title like how we can use a nickname?
I'm mostly thinking of historical romances where a lot of time the men are only referred to by their title and not their name (i.e. the Duke of Avendale is called Avendale by everyone). So in that example I wonder if I can use their title for an A.
Completely missed that as I was only looking in the section at the top where the bonus was mentioned so I didn't see it added at the bottom of the rules. Thanks!
I love the spreadsheet! The column for each letter is nice and makes it easy to fill everything out.I do have a question about the bonus for the older books. Is it the exact number of years from the date the book was published? Or is it only going off of the year?
As an example, if I read How to Survive Your Murder which was published in August 2022 can I use that for the 2+ years old since it's 2 years and 2 months old?
Hi team! I'm Melanie and I live in NJ (just across the river from Philadelphia) with my husband and our two cats. I work in finance and don't find myself in many traffic jams these days as I've been WFH for the last 4.5 years.I primarily read romance and mysteries/thrillers with the occasional urban fantasy or sci-fi thrown in. I'll read almost anything for a challenge though (but usually I'll avoid high/epic fantasy and Christian fiction). Wheel has definitely had me reading some random books before for a hard letter.
So quick question about the reading cap. How does rounding work for this when it comes to the 50% more cap.I think I signed up for 9 books per round, so 50% over would be 4.5 books. Would that round down to 4 or up to 5 making it 13 or 14 books max if I end up overreading during a round?
So excited for this! Wheel was my first challenge however many years ago and it's still my favorite.
