Would this work for the task of circles on the cover? Specifically the halo light things behind the title.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine what you're going through.
Hi team! Happy 4th to fellow Americans on the team.Just wanted to check in and give a recommendation. If you're a fan of sci-fi books, I have to highly recommend The Dred Chronicles by Ann Aguirre. I read all three books this week because they were so good I didn't want to pick up anything else. Threw off my entire reading plans for the week, but hey I have a new favorite series now so that's fine.
Karen ⊰✿ wrote: "Most of my reading is audiobooks so I’m pretty excited about that prospect! I hope they are decent books though - other sites I’ve been to over the years that give audios for reviews have been pretty disappointing"Have you tried Libro.fm's audio review program? It's something you have to apply for, but I've heard great things about the program. Might be worth a try?

I highly recommend Invictus by Ryan Graudin. It's a great story about a crew who goes on heists and steals things from the past.
Can a fictional place work for task 172 "Read a book set in the British Isles"?
I have an ARC of A Good Duke is Hard to Find which is set on the fictional Isle of Synne which according to the description is off of Britain's northern coast. So it appears to be part of Britain, but I wasn't sure it would count since it's a fictional place.
Nevermind, I found a different task to use it for.
I think for the first time, I'm hoping we get a word with the letter Z in it for the next round. My pre-order of Take a Hint, Dani Brown just arrived and I really want to read it but it seems a shame to waste the opportunity to use it for the Z character.
Plus I have an ARC of A Cowboy State of Mind which comes out on the 30th that also has a Z character.
Sixty wrote: "Oh no, my money, haha!"Haha, that was pretty much my exact reaction when my friend told me about it. But it's so hard to resist the pull of a good book deal.
Because I'm an enabler of others buying books, Amazon has a sale on a lot of titles where you buy 3 and the cheapest one is free. (The sale includes more than books, but hey books are what the common interest is here.) The deal stacks too. For example, I just bought 9 books and 3 of them were free. And it includes a lot of newer books too as I got 3 2019 releases and 6 2020 releases. Here is the link if anyone is interested. I definitely recommend playing with the genre filters on the left side as you'll be able to see more books that way since it's limited to 20 pages of items even though there's more than that many items.

Aymee wrote: "Odd question... I submitted a review to Netgalley earlier today and went to check my feedback ratio. It was at 95% showing 62 out of 65 complete. I only have two books left on my shelf and when you go to the feedback tab on your shelf, it shows I've submitted feedback for 63 books. So, my profile is off by one book. Has anyone ever had this problem?"
I've had this happen a few times. It has always fixed itself after a day or two. No idea why it happens, but sometimes it takes a few days for a submitted feedback to take in your profile.
For ebooks, the page count comes from the publisher which has 480, so I've added that.https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...
Finished my first book. Love Lettering was so good I stayed up until 2AM to finish it. I highly recommend it if you're a romance reader. And now to finally sleep.
Lindsay♫SingerOfStories♫ wrote: "How perfect - we start exactly when I get off work! Nice way to kick off the weekend!!"Yes, it's great! I'm done work at 5, just in time to start reading.
Judith wrote: "That's been allowed in the past I believe. As you said, you couldn't use D for Duke because that's his title, but you could use Greycourt if that's what everyone calls him."Ok, great. I wasn't sure if it was challenges in this group that allowed that or if it was a different challenge group.
Judith wrote: "I read a lot of historical romance too and honestly half the time for side male characters (even ones with larger roles in the story) you rarely find out their birth name anyway."
Yes, it's a major problem. Half the time when I'm reading HR for challenges I'm yelling at the book to tell me the character's actual names.
I have a question about characters when it comes to the spell it out.I read a lot of historical romance and in a large number of them, characters will be referred to by their title. Should we treat their title as essentially a nickname?
For example here's a book I've already read but will demonstrate what I mean, Project Duchess. The love interest's name is Fletcher Pryde, Duke of Greycourt. In the book he is mostly referred to as Grey or Greycourt. In terms of the spell it our, can all three letters, F P & G be used?
I know titles like Inspector and the like aren't generally allowed in the spell it out, but in historical romance a lot of times characters will only be called by their titled name, so I wasn't sure if it could count as a nickname of sorts.
Alysa wrote: "Maybe there can be a separate thread for this (if there isn't one in Captains group), but can another GR Librarian here look into updating page count on this if appropriate? I don't want to update ..."Updated the page count for you on that one.
Judith wrote: "I would say yes to both!"Great. Added both tasks for those then.
I've claimed 4 spots for now, all of which work for a task, but only 1 works for one of the tags.
A couple of questions to see if these will work for certain tasks.Would you consider this cover orange enough for task 191?
And does an illustrated city scape work for task 26 (see bottom of the cover)?
