As for the computer, are they going to exchange it? They definitely should. That is so aggravating."

Of course we are going to try to exchange it. Something like that is just unacceptable. But we'll have to wait until monday because the store doesn't open on Sundays.

35559 Guys !!

My dad just gifted me a new e-reader ! I'm so happy :)
We were at the store buying a new computer for my mother when I just commented that I'd need to buy a new one soon because the one I had was acting up. and he just bought me one. Like that. As a present for my end of studies (which is coming soon!). I love my dad. Tomorrow's father's day. I hope he'll like the present I bought him.
I'll be able to read ebooks on the bus again :D

But, we had an issues with the computer we bought my mother. I need to vent because I can't believe something like that would happen. My dad is furious. We had selected a super nice HP computer with touchscreen that you can turn around to use like a tablet. A very nice (and a bit pricier than we what we were initially looking for tbh). The guy at the store went to get it for us in his stock, assuring us it was the right computer.
But when we got home and opened it, it was a completely different computer. A basic one. My brother checked on the his phone and apparently it was one that costs more than 200€ less than what we paid. My father was simply boiling !

35559 Thanks Elen

Out of the three I'm only interested in Rosemary and Rue. How can I not be? After loving Every Heart a Doorway so much. I'm curious to read more by Seanan McGuire.

I volunteered for DQ for extra points. Hopefully I'll be picked.
35559 Awesome !! I was planning to read it soon!

And I'm in for DQ :)

edit: Team Hermione, sorry I forgot to specify

35559 Yeaaaaaah !!!! Go Gryffindor !!!

35559 Just starting it now. I'm at the very beginning.

As soon as he mentioned Warren Robinett and the very first video gema easter egg, I went to check if it was true. I was excited (but not very surprised of course) to see it was. I'm looking forward to learn more about videogame history and 80s culture !

35559 I'm sorry I'm not liking it as much as you do ... :(
But I'm happy that your husband loves it so much! It's always awesome to hear that a book has such an impact on someone, especially on a non-reader.

Yes... and even then...
Maybe I should put it aside for the moment and concentrate on something I really want to read.

So much love ! haha

I can already tell I'll love the whole Others series by Anne Bishop. I just really love how the first one was written and I have high hopes for the rest.

for Red Rising, I really try but there's just something that doesn't click for me. Maybe it was just not the right time for me to read it. That can happen. Or maybe Dystopians are not for me anymore.

35559 that's good! I'm glad my research can also help in the challenge !!

35559 Hey everyone. I hope everyone's doing well. Sorry I've been a bit absent from this chat.

I've been busy with my exams and various buddy reads. My trick is to read as much as I can in the morning and study in the afternoon until evening. I still have one exam on monday and then the fun can start with my master thesis... Really not looking forward to that. The good thing about it though, is that I'll be able to use the textbooks I read for research for the challenge. (already started one actually. London: The Biography, a 800 pages book, so yay for that).

The last two days, however, were kind of break days and I could catch up in my BRs. I managed to read both Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay for Bonus BR points. Rereading the Cursed Child was kind of a pain. The first time I read it I enjoyed it, but since then I read so many reviews pointing out everything that's wrong about it, which I couldn't ignore in my reread. It was very irritating.

I also discovered Written in Red, which quickly became one of my favorite books. I really love it and am looking forward to buddy read the second book this weekend.

Right now I'm in the middle of Red Rising and I'm starting Ready Player One tonight. I know Red Rising is a really popular book but for some reason I'm not into it. The beginning (view spoiler) just really annoyed me.
