35559 I'm currently reading Murder of Crows in which a character makes prophecies.

Does the word planet count for Astronomy? I can read Ice Planet Barbarians, it's a quick one.

And for a hardcover, I had put A Pocketful of Crows aside for the challenge as a quick read. and it's a hardcover (a very pretty one at that).
35559 I listened to the audio for book one and really liked it. I was immediately hooked :)
I'm going to listen to the audio for this volume too.

35559 Discussion questions Chapters 1-9 2&3 May:

1. Have you read Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda? Maybe seen the Movie yet? (I haven't, it is not out in The Netherlands yet) Did you like the book/movie? For me it was a while since I read Simon, but some of the characters stuck in my mind so for me it helps with the dynamics of Leah's group of friends.

Yes, it was one of my favorite books last year. I loved it ! I plan to go see the movie soon.

2. From what I've read so far I love the references to fandoms, fanfiction and reading. A quote for the Slytherins among us: "I'm basically your resident fat Slytherin Rory Gilmore.", Do you think this describes Leah?

I can see her as a slytherin (for now at least). But I'm not convinced yet by the Rory GIlmore part.

3. I love the friendship between Simon and Leah. Did you have a friendship like theirs in highschool?

I had a really good friend in highschool but we fell apart. sadly. But when I started university I started hanging out with another friend more and more. And now I can honestly I've never been closer to a friend before. She's the best.

4. "Imagine going about your day knowing someone's carrying you in their mind. That has to be the best part of being in love - the feeling of having a home in someone else's brain. What's the best of being in love for you? Do you agree with Leah?

Seems a bit egotistical to say something like that. It has to be both ways. otherwise it's just selfish. The best thing about being in love is the sharing, always being interested in the other, being supportive with one another.

5. Do you read fanfiction like Leah does? Or make fanart like she is making? Do you post art or pictures you make on Instagram or Tumblr? Do you maybe write fanfiction, if you do what kind and which fandom?

Yes I read a lot of fanfiction. I even read Drarry fanfic. haha I've tried to write one once or twice but I wasn't convinced by the result and quickly abandoned them. lol. it's not for me.

6. What do you think of Leah's group of friends? Do you like them?

They are fine but it seems to me a couple of them are starting to fall apart. Like Morgan.

7. Will Morgan's rejection letter break up the group of friends? What did you think of her reaction as to why she did not get in to the university? Do you agree with Leah's reaction?

I was positively appalled by Morgan's reaction. It's completely unfair to Abby. I completely agree with Leah, here.
35559 Starting this today. I'm really excited to see what's up with the Others in this one ! :D

As for the computer, are they going to exchange it? They definitely should. That is so aggravating."

Of course we are going to try to exchange it. Something like that is just unacceptable. But we'll have to wait until monday because the store doesn't open on Sundays.

35559 Guys !!

My dad just gifted me a new e-reader ! I'm so happy :)
We were at the store buying a new computer for my mother when I just commented that I'd need to buy a new one soon because the one I had was acting up. and he just bought me one. Like that. As a present for my end of studies (which is coming soon!). I love my dad. Tomorrow's father's day. I hope he'll like the present I bought him.
I'll be able to read ebooks on the bus again :D

But, we had an issues with the computer we bought my mother. I need to vent because I can't believe something like that would happen. My dad is furious. We had selected a super nice HP computer with touchscreen that you can turn around to use like a tablet. A very nice (and a bit pricier than we what we were initially looking for tbh). The guy at the store went to get it for us in his stock, assuring us it was the right computer.
But when we got home and opened it, it was a completely different computer. A basic one. My brother checked on the his phone and apparently it was one that costs more than 200€ less than what we paid. My father was simply boiling !

35559 Thanks Elen

Out of the three I'm only interested in Rosemary and Rue. How can I not be? After loving Every Heart a Doorway so much. I'm curious to read more by Seanan McGuire.

I volunteered for DQ for extra points. Hopefully I'll be picked.
35559 Awesome !! I was planning to read it soon!

And I'm in for DQ :)

edit: Team Hermione, sorry I forgot to specify

35559 Yeaaaaaah !!!! Go Gryffindor !!!

35559 Just starting it now. I'm at the very beginning.

As soon as he mentioned Warren Robinett and the very first video gema easter egg, I went to check if it was true. I was excited (but not very surprised of course) to see it was. I'm looking forward to learn more about videogame history and 80s culture !

35559 I'm sorry I'm not liking it as much as you do ... :(
But I'm happy that your husband loves it so much! It's always awesome to hear that a book has such an impact on someone, especially on a non-reader.

So much love ! haha

I can already tell I'll love the whole Others series by Anne Bishop. I just really love how the first one was written and I have high hopes for the rest.

for Red Rising, I really try but there's just something that doesn't click for me. Maybe it was just not the right time for me to read it. That can happen. Or maybe Dystopians are not for me anymore.
