T18 Read a book with a musical instrument on the cover

Holler if you can find any instruments! :D"

I can take care of that :)
Sonia convinced me to read Lords of Discord, and I was planning to start the second book in the next couple of days. I can prioritize this over my other books no problemo

35559 A lot of you seem to have chosen your tasks already. What a team !
It's sometimes a bit hard to see which tasks are already taken or not. I think I'll just go with my gut, read what I have planned in my head for my other challenges and see how it can fit in here. And if there's a tricky one I'll see how I can contribute then.
I hope this is okay for you all.

I've read the first book and really liked it. So I basically bought the whole series, and then didn't continue on... I have a problem...

I read them when I was 15 or something, and at the time I liked them a lot. At the time I didn't read much and I was just discovering how much reading novels could be fun. Before that I only read the mandatory books for school, and mangas. I was reaaaaally into mangas back then.
Then only 2 years later I decided to reread them and I could not bring myself to finish the first book because it was so bad. I guess my reading tastes really got refined in those 2 years. haha

I think that's the one! Indeed, it was sleeping beauty and not beauty and the beast. but yuck !!

I've read Interview and Lestat and I kind of liked it. But I couldn't bring myself to read more. Her writing is not the easiest to get into.
I've also tried another series by Anne Rice, some sort of beauty and the beast thing if I remember right, but it did not work for me.

Well in the case of Vampire Diaries... It might have been for the best. The books aren't exactly that great to begin with... Not that the show is a masterpiece either, but it was really entertaining.

35559 Oh right, I see. I think I marked the first book as maybe a while back. I wasn't really sure about it. but now I'll definitely move it to to read.
I haven't read one single Jocelynn Drake book yet, even though I have a few of her books on my TBR. I tried to read Unbreakable Bonds but I wasn't in the mood so I put it down. It's time I try her books!

Yes, the audio is nice as well. I'm doing a mix of physical reading and listening for this one.

The variks... is that a book series? :) I'm interested now. I know you mentioned it a few times now.

Good morning Sonia !

I feel you. I hate it when authors do a vampire story, but have nothing very vampiry except for the drinking blood thing. I want more lore, more magic and they need to have some weaknesses as well. For instance, a vampire's underrated weakness is the need to be invited inside thing. I think plotwise it makes things interesting sometimes, but few actually use it.

I'm currently reading the Misborn series. I'm almost finished with book 2 ! I'm glad because this series has been collecting dust on my shelves for way too long. I think I bought the series back in 2015 ! 😓 And I'm so happy to report I'm loving it so far. 😁
