35559 I took a look at the rules:

“Re-reads" will be allowed, if it has been six months since you have read the book. This includes listening to the audio version, if you've already read the book.

Yay!

Oh wow! That is so cool :O I love to read historical romances here and there so I will definitely try checking it out!

Steven wrote: "I also mostly read series because once I’m invested I need as much as I can of those worlds/characters. It’s damn near impossible for me to pick a favorite series, but I’d probably say Stormlight Archive by Brandson Sanderson.

Currently, I’m officially unemployed as of this past Tuesday. Had some issues at work that involves being highly unappreciated, so left. My field and education/experience are in accounting/finance, but books are my passion."

Send all your epic fantasy recommendations my way!

So sorry to hear about your work situation but I am glad you are aware of your value. It's so easy to stay at a job you are not enjoying because it is convenient. I hope your next position brings you personal fulfillment!

I do tend to lean towards contemporary, rom com and crime/thriller but am not averse to fantasy or sci fi."

Ha! I can definitely relate to my job funding my book buying habit. Thank goodness for my public library and subscription services ;)

35559 Hi everyone! 👋🏽

I’m Navi. I live in British Columbia, Canada with my husband. Reading is my obsession and I will voraciously inhale any genre I can get my hands on. My reading preferences are always changing but my recent favourite genres have been horror, science fiction, fantasy and nonfiction. I have a bunch of long fantasy series ready to go on my kindle for Towers. Good thing I’m in the mood for reading chunky books!

Excited to get started and looking forward to chatting books with you all☺️

35559 Christina wrote: "if you think about it strategically, reading a book that's 1000+ pages is a bad idea as no matter how much more than 1000 pages it is, there's no way of getting more than those 100 points. if you read 5 books that are 500 pages (so same page count) you'd get 250 points instead of "just" 100.
I hope that makes sense lol. it's late, and I'm obviously not very articulate x)"

My thoughts exactly! Thank you for confirming :)

35559 I have an anthology that is around 2,500 pages - would this be worth 100 points?

35559 I'm super excited for Tower Teams! Trying to read as many short books as I can, so I can focus on the chunksters when the challenge starts :D

35559 The Queen of the Cicadas by V. Castro
The Queen of the Cicadas by V. Castro

2018: Belinda Alvarez has returned to Texas for the wedding of her best friend Veronica. The farm is the site of the urban legend, La Reina de Las Chicharras - The Queen of The Cicadas.

In 1950s south Texas a farmworker—Milagros from San Luis Potosi, Mexico—is murdered. Her death is ignored by the town, but not the Aztec goddess of death, Mictecacíhuatl. The goddess hears the dying cries of Milagros and creates a plan for both to be physically reborn by feeding on vengeance and worship.

Belinda and the new owner of the farmhouse, Hector, find themselves immersed in the legend and realize it is part of their fate as well.

35559 Hi everyone! I noticed that a few of my books are highlighted. Do you need me to provide further information? :)

35559 Hi everyone! I’m so sorry I’ve been MIA recently. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been reading in my spare time. I have quite a few books to add to the spreadsheet but am feeling a bit overwhelmed matching to the tasks. Please bear with me - I will definitely have everything added by tomorrow evening. I’m a bit busy today with family stuff but I should be able to set aside some time tomorrow!
