35559 If any of you enjoy romance, I found a book with a yellow cover, focusing on music(so there should be instruments in the text) and is free on Kindle: Music Man (Romance in Rehoboth, #1) by K.L. Montgomery

I will try to fit this in as well!

35559 Sorry, please disregard my page count question- I found the rule on the SS - it’s the edition we read!

35559 Quick question about page counts - is that the default page count or the page count for the specific edition we read?

Also, I have claimed three slots on the SS. I have not searched my books for instruments yet - will do that later tonight.

35559 Hi everyone! Omg, this came up faster than I expected which is great :)

My shelf: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

My name is Navi! I have not participated in a NBRC team challenge in some time but I am very excited to get started. I live in Vancouver, BC in Canada with my husband. I try to read across different genres but my go-tos at the moment are Horror, Fantasy and Romance. Looking forward to receiving all of the recommendations from y'all.

I do love country music but I'm afraid I don't know names of artists haha! They are usually recommendations from my husband.

Excited to read with you all! Now to read all of the books on my currently reading shelf so I have a blank start come Oct 7 :D

35559 Thank you Jenny, Ive & Angie! So sorry for not being as active in the thread as I would have liked - I so wish I had joined in on the Hangman fun but work has been crazy busy!

Also a special thank you to Alaina for adding one of my books to the SS!

I read so many great books. A few 5-star standouts:

White Noise by Don DeLillo
Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky
Empire of Silence by Christopher Ruocchio
Dark Matter Presents Human Monsters by Sadie Hartmann

(Sorry, the book search function isn't working right now so I can't add links)

Happy holidays!

35559 The spreadsheet looks a bit strange - can someone please mark my book (Reluctant Immortals) as read with today's date - Dec 12? Thank you so much!

35559 So sorry for missing all the fun! I've been completely swamped at work this week :(

I'll jump in with guesses as soon as Angie updates the graphic!

Hi Jenny!

I loved CoT. It was such an imaginative book filled with exciting ideas. Even though it was a long book, it had be completely engrossed from start to end. I cannot wait to continue on with the series. Have you read the second book?

What books have you enjoyed recently?

35559 Not sure if we can double up on the shelf and colour bonus points but I found a book that has a purple colour and is tagged queer:

Lavender House by Lev A.C. Rosen

Sounds interesting! Unfortunately, I'm still on the HOLD list at my library :(

Thanks, Jenny! I agree - upon taking a second glance, it looks more blue than purple

35559 Is this cover purple enough?

Weaveworld by Clive Barker

35559 We had our Canadian Thanksgiving last month! I definitely had a food coma for a couple days after. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating!

I have myself slotted to read Children of Time and The Exorcist's House on the spreadsheet but not sure if I'll be able finish both books. I will definitely be done with CoT so I'll leave that on there. I'm going to remove the second book from the SS but will add it back if I am able to get around to it over the weekend :)

35559 Oh sorry to hear that, Jenn! Hope you feel better soon!

Ooh I'm even more excited to get started now! :)

35559 Yay, go team! Reading Space Opera the first round made me realize how much I missed it so I'll be reading Children of Time (Children of Time, #1) by Adrian Tchaikovsky for the green cover bonus points! It's also around 600 pages :)
Nov 21, 2022 09:06AM

35559 Finished my two books! 😊
Nov 17, 2022 10:23AM

35559 Thanks, Jenny! I will definitely finish my two claimed books but it will be closer to the end of the round
