Thanks for fixing me yesterday. I have some slowwwww complimentary internet at this hotel so I'm going through and checking things really quick before we head out for some fun. I already know that I'm putting my books away and not reading this weekend so I wanted to get things together before I went and played.

Would someone be able to put the links to my posts for the BOM in the spreadsheet. I'm here at work for another hour and I'll try to do it at the airport but if I can't get on the wi-fi then I may need help. I think it's posts 133, 135, and 136. Thanks! I may get one more book done by Saturday but I'll post it here if that happens. I'm taking a couple audios and shorter ebooks with me.

Day 3: Chapters 11-15

9.Let’s talk about Cate. What could Grey have possibly said to her to make a mother hate her child? (If she is her child.) What do you think of Cate and Iris’ relationship?

I don't think the relationship is healthy. I think we still don't know a lot of things but this relationship could be healthier.

10. What do you think causes the sisters to have the power of suggestion, or the power of the kiss, or whatever you call it?

I think this is the magic part of the story that we still are learning more about.

11. How do you feel about Grey's actions in the hospital and during the escape?

I'm not sure how I feel about Grey. I hope she was doing it to be nice but I also think she's a little twisted and it could be evilness coming through.


12. The girl says “It is in me…In her…In you.” What is in them? And, may I say, yuck. This story seems very myth-laden. Has anyone recognized the myth yet, or do you think this is an original one? Are you enjoying the story so far? (Is anyone else having a flashback to the creepy video in season one of True Detective, or is it just me?)

I haven't watched True Detective. I still say it has a magic-fae feel but I don't recognize a myth. I also don't read much fantasy so I'm not the best resource to ask.


And, just out of curiosity, has anyone done a Google search on the flowers yet?

I hadn't done the google search yet but now I'm going to need to go do the google search...

Day 2: Chapters 6-10

5. Grey leaves her sisters a note that reveals the creepy guy is really a very bad person...that she's in peril. She provides a key and sends them to a super creepy apartment...'The missing sister, the dead body, the burned apartment, the gunshot wound, the armful of stolen artifacts. Even harder: the man in the skull, the flowers growing rampant in all the soft parts of a corpse.' What is your conclusion so far?

I'm thinking it's a fae tale and we are starting to see little bits of that storyline.

6. Vivi and Iris find a diary from their father...his notes supporting the Vogue article with all kinds of rumors about the girls. What do you think about their father? Was he crazy? Are his girls dead?

I don't think the girls are dead. Something happened to dad and the girls at one point but I'm not sure what as of yet.

7. What is with the flowers and vegetation found in the girls and around the girls? This organic, smelly stuff keeps showing up? What do you think is behind it?

Those flowers have some secrets to tell. I'm not sure what but something is up with the flowers and vegetation.

8. Tyler shows up at the end of this section of our reading. There's an article referenced with mention of a disappearance. Someone else came back. What do you think is next? What will Tyler's role be...hero, bad guy, or is his appearance a cameo/distraction?

I like Tyler. I'm unsure what his role is going to be but I do like him so far. I'm he comes in to help things.

Day 1 - prologue - Chapter 5

(posting early because I'm with the niblings over the weekend so will get no chance to post tomorrow!)

1. What sort of stuff do you like in your horror books? Do you like the slow pacing here?

I don't read much horror but I do love a good thriller. I think I like the suspense of the horror books that I do read. I like the slow pacing.

2. What do you think of the sister's and their relationship with each other?

I'm interested to see more about their relationship. I like that they are close but also each one is their own person.


3. We are getting hints about the strangeness around the Hollow girls, and at what happened to them. What are your suspicions? Would you be like Cate with her daughters, and not push at the memories overtly or dig actively?

I think Mom knows more than she's letting on and so she has a reason for not being pushy. I'm curious to find out more.


4. The descriptions (of Grey's clothing in particular!) is very atmospheric. Are you enjoying the descriptive language used?

I think it adds to the book and it really helps to tell the story.

I will have the BOM finished tomorrow. I also will have more books but don't want to go over the penalty and I know the BOM will put me at my projected number. If we will need more, then let me know a letter and I'll see what I can do to make it happen.

I’m reading the book of the month too but I’ll get my posts updated tonight because I’m reading it in sections. I’m hoping to get it done before my trip so that it’s all caught up. I should have some more books to add hopefully but will have limited access to my computer after Thursday.

We are driving back today but I’ll have a y to add. I also will have a few more books to add this week.

I have some more books to add. Let me go fix a couple things. I won't have my computer until Monday after about an hour from now but I'll be traveling back and forth so I'll have some books read for sure.

I have some books to go update. I ended up being in the car a long time yesterday so I was able to knock out some good audiobooks and get a few of my challenges done a little caught up.

So audiobooks, I did the link but then took the page numbers from the first book listed. Is that what we are doing on this challenge? I have challenges everywhere. I also started a 3rd word but I have books left this week that can fit in some of the spots still open.

I forgot about the start time so I'm glad I checked in. I had to change one of my books and I took one off because I'm planning on reading that this afternoon. This weekend is a lazy reading, chores, tv, sports kind of weekend so I'm hoping that I can knock out a few books this weekend. I found a series that has an E author which is good but some of the page numbers aren't the best but they aren't too bad. I think page numbers are what I'm going to struggle with this wheels but I'm working on it over here. Y'all should see my scribbles.

I put some books on the tracking spreadsheet. I'll add some more once I figure out some other things I'm working on but I did add a few. :)

I may have challenge overload going on over here so I haven't totally figured out what I'm reading first but I'll have something good for sure. I know that I can take a couple of the E's because I'm sitting over here needing like 10 E's for a challenge and I need to work on that situation.

Hey everyone! I'm Anna and I live in the Louisville area (Eastern time zone) and work in healthcare. Some days are more crazy than others. I've been with my husband for 15 years and we don't have any kids but we do have a dog, who he thinks is a human. We love Alabama football, Braves baseball, and hanging out with friends now that we can do that again a little safer.

I read pretty much anything but romance is my favorite and I'm slowly getting more into sci-fi-ish books. Those sometimes aren't my thing. I'm not a good strategy person but I love to come in and chat and hear about other people's books. I usually try to stop in every couple of days but I may be slightly addicted to reading challenges and got myself in some things for October so I'll be on more.

I mean it is wheels and crazy things happen sometimes. I'm going to say he doesn't see his shadow but a time warp may definitely happen.

I had to really think hard about how many books for the month. I kind of guessed on a good number and let's see where it leads me. I'm excited to play again. :)

I'm just sitting here with my popcorn and a good glass of bourbon waiting for more information. I am a little curious of the evilness that may have been thought up...
