We are doing Black Friday online from the couch. I don't want to go out in the mass of people. I think it's going to be crazy out there.

DQs Day 3: Sweat Lodge Massacre - Shirts and Skins (61%)9. What do you think about what happened to Lewis and people’s reaction to the news?
I think people acted the way they did due to Lewis just losing himself. I do feel some people could have showed a little more emotions at time.
10. The section title is “Sweat Lodge Massacre.” Do you think the two other guys (Gabe and Cass) will live through this section? Do you think other bystanders or even Gabe’s daughter will be killed?
I already read the book but going back to that section I do think they would make it through. Not sure who else is going to die because this book is weird.
11. What do you think of this section so far as compared to the first one?
Not a fan of the book overall but this section is okay. I feel about the same as I did with the previous section
12. Where do you think the dogs went at the end of this section? Do you think there is a relation do between the elk woman and dogs or just used for the imagery?
I feel the dogs have an important part of the story. Dogs are so smart in understanding what is going on around them.

DQs Day 2: Friday - Still Tuesday 68 - 129 (42%)5. Wow. I was not expecting this section to end that way, did you? I really thought Lewis was going to be our main protagonist for the rest of the story. Were you surprised like me or were you able to predict the bloody ending?
I wasn't surprised. I didn't predict it though but wasn't really surprised either.
6. Lewis was often wondering why the “elk woman” was terrorizing him and his friends in this order. What do you think? Any predictions on which friend we’ll follow next?
I already finished the book and am behind on my questions but I will say I didn't really know who was going to go next.
7. Do you think the elk woman is real or just in the minds of our protagonists? If she is real: any ideas of who she might be?
I don't think she is real. I think she is an imaginary character but still important to the story.
8. At one point Lewis thinks that Shaney can’t be all bad because she doesn’t fold down the pages on books. What are your feelings on dog-earing books? How do you like to keep your place when you read?
I dog ear books if I don't have a bookmark available. Sometimes, I just put a piece of scrap paper in between pages but a lot of times I'll just turn the corner of the page down.
I'm updating my stuff now. I finished the Indians book last night. I made it through but whew that was tough. I have the other BOM to read also and I'll start it tomorrow. I hope that it's better. Thanks for all those book recommendations. I'm going to see what I can fit in out of those.
Pumpkin rolls sound fun! Craft fairs are always fun and you can get so many holiday gifts at them. We don't really have many plans this week but we do have some Christmas traditions that we will do in December. We are planning a low key Thanksgiving. John's sister is coming up so the 3 of us will hang out, eat, and then put the decorations up that night while watching Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

1. Just here for the points, or was this one on your radar already? Is horror a genre you usually read, or is this an opportunity for you to go outside your comfort zone?Totally just here for points. I don't read much horror so this is definitely out of my comfort zone.
2. This book starts as I suspect it means to continue: Bleak, dark and with a hefty dollop of misery. Do you like it when a book starts in the middle of the action, or do you prefer a happy slice of life first before everything goes awry?
I like a happy medium. I want some backstory slice of life but then I want to get to some action so the book can continue to build up the backstory and action.
3. The elk. Were you intrigued about this straight away? Did you instinctively see this as a psychological or supernatural issue?
The elk has me intrigued. I'm not sure what I really think about the elk but maybe psychological.
4. What do you think so far? Anything standing out that you really like or don’t like?
It's not really keeping my interest like some books but I'm going to power through it.
Thanks! Work got busy but I just did it from my phone I think. I’ll put my completion dates in when I get them done.
Okay, I added the 3 little books, and added the 3 books that I will definitely finish before the deadline. One of them, I'm almost done with and the other two should be fast books so I may actually get another one finished on Saturday but I'll wait to pick that book until I see where I'm at. I'll also get my questions updated on the BOM.
I have books that I can add in if we need them. I just didn't yet because they were 200 page books so tomorrow I'll check and see where we are at. I'm about to add 2 right now that are a little better page numbers.
I just added a few and I'll have at least 3-4 to add by the deadline. Looks like it's going to be a steampunk kind of week for me and most of them have decent page numbers. I did finish my long audio book which was 700ish pages.
I literally just finished one of the December books a couple weeks ago for another challenge. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is pretty good. I'll read the other one though. Horror is definitely not my style. I'm literally reading a couple chapters and putting this one down and going back to other things. I need to update some questions soon and keep plugging away at it but I'll get it done.
I did listen to longer audiobooks and I'm about to start a long one which will help. I'll also get the BOM read this weekend. It's not my type of book so I'm planning on snacks, wine, and reading it in chunks so I can knock out a section, do the questions, and repeat the cycle.
I got sidetracked finishing up a couple series this week that blew my reading plans to pieces but I got some bigger books planned for this weekend and I'll put my smaller books on the sheets but I'll work on replacing some of them with bigger ones.
Oops, wrong thread. That was supposed to go to turf wars. I have way too many things open over here. I'm planning on listening to a couple 500 page books this week. I'm pretty competitive at times so I'll see what I can do to help. The problem is the people on that first place team are on my turf wars team and I know their level of competitiveness but I think we can work on catching up a little. :)
Runs to look at these standings....I will definitely work on the BOM and work on my page counts also. I think this week, I will have more 400 page books to add. October messed me up with some traveling and some things but November is no travel and I should have much better time to plan out my books.
I'll read the BOM's. I just was so busy last week trying to play catch up on some other things that I couldn't start the first one but I'll get it done this week. I have them both saved on Scribd. I'm also planning on trying to tackle some bigger page books this month tossed in so I'm hoping that helps with some points also. :)
I also put another one on there that you may want to swap too. All the spaces were taken this week because everyone is doing such an amazing job so I have been reading but haven't found places but that one had good page numbers also. Yes, it was a good story. I'm going to need to continue with the series just to find out more.
I finished Children of Blood and Bone today with a page count of 537 if you want to place it somewhere to up some points. The other one I read are just so so on page counts but I thought the 5ish one would be a good addition.
I had a busy weekend but I'm working on slowly catching up things in between work stuff. It's been crazy around here. I just finished One of Us Is Lying and starting book 2 this week and it was a pretty good book.
