I made a private group that we can use if we want to and I can make everyone moderators in the morning so that we can all make threads and do all the things.
Not OCD at all! I may have been going back to search to see how we did it before and pulled up the old spreadsheet. It looks like the books read tab before got locked for each round so I can see where the previous rounds were but only see round 3 books. Should we make a private group? Maybe not a spreadsheet but just a group that we could make a thread for books read and the ingredients and then we could transfer them over to the spreadsheet in a couple weeks. If it's a copy and paste, I should be able to handle that on a weekend. I know that we have some pretty competitive teams this time because I already did some snooping of the team rosters and a bunch of us are playing Hogwarts on various teams so I have a feeling this version could get pretty competitive. I like goals!
Sure, I can do that. Yeah, that's what we did last time. Vicki, if you don't have all the fish n chip ingredients just leave spaces to finish and then kick your book to another meal. That way we can go back in and fill in the blanks. That will come in handy with those pesky words like vinegar because sometimes those words like to hide.
I don't mind being a go to person. I requested access also so hopefully they will come on and just click through the list and grant everyone access. I bet other teams are waiting also. I'm not the best at SS's but I can fill in already made ones pretty well. I know last time we tried to balance out our meals so that we had some of each one because we didn't know what the customers were going to be.
I can be lead person as long as y'all are okay with my crazy work schedule and I may need help a couple times. I'm going to be at a 4 day concert mid September and then going home to Alabama for 4 days in November but that's all that I have majorly planned. When I get to work, I can figure out how to tell them that I'll take the lead. I'll make sure to take my laptop because we can't access google from work either.
I haven't read The Paris Apartment yet so I'll be reading that one for sure. I have read Four Winds so I can't help there. Thanks for making the overflow section. I'll try to put smaller books there also. I can't remember if there was an advantage to keep things hidden or not in this one. I guess we can see how it flows round 1 and change if we need to for the next round?
I can totally do that. I'm ready to start this one too. I'm already trying to pay attention to ingredients in books to get my mind back on that train.
Lol, I liked the name because I like Chinese/Asian food so I totally was thinking something different. I like doing a mixture but don't know how to spin it.
Hey everyone! I'm Anna. I'm pretty sure everyone knows me but I live in Southern Indiana, am married, and we have one dog, no kids. I work in pediatric healthcare so some of my work weeks are wonky but this fall should be a little better. Plus, we don't have any big trips coming up for the rest of the year but do have a 4 day music festival. I tend to read more romance and thriller books but I'll read almost anything for some good points. I'm not very creative with names but I like all the ones that y'all have tossed out. :)
Thanks to the amazing captains for keeping us in order this summer. I loved playing with everyone. This was such a fun tt group! Great job everyone!!!
I read a lot of smaller books this weekend to work on some random things but I also had a couple 400 page ones this week but I'm all caught up and added them on there. I don't think that I'll get another one finished tomorrow before the deadline but I'll try. :)
Oh no, I can't remember when I stopped adding because I had in my mind that we were close to maxing out. I'm going to need to go work on this!
I just added my Book Lovers to the spreadsheet and finished my questions. I forgot to do them because I was so focused on writing the questions for everyone else. Oops!

DQs Day 4 - Aug 5Chapters 21 - 28
14.) One of the most prevalent plot devices in romance books is misunderstandings being a primary driver in the conflict between MCs. I hate it because most of the issues could be resolved with one 15 minute conversation. Does this plot device annoy anyone else? Did you find it refreshing then that Nora cleared the air a bit in the library with Charles? At least before the grabby-hands started ;)
I read a lot of romance so it doesn't usually bother me because I know it's just fluff to add to the story to get to the make-up parts, lol! I always like when they clear the air to make things better.
15.) Were you surprised at anything revealed by Nora and Charles during their tent conversation? Did the tension with Shepard make even more sense with some backstory?
I'm done with the book but I wasn't surprised by the conversation. I thought Shepard didn't add as much as I thought he would to the backstory.
16.) Any guesses on why Libby needed a lawyer's number? Do you think it's a divorce? I'm hoping that's a red herring and it's something with their dad or a basic need like wills for her and Brendan.
I'm finished but at this time, I for sure thought divorce. Libby was so up and down emotionally.
17.) Any guesses as to what Nora will do about the editor job? Do you think Charlie will stay in his hometown, or will he make it back to NYC?
I thought Nora would take the editor job. It was the job that she wanted. At this time, I was pushing for Charlie and Nora and wasn't for sure how that was going to happen.

Day 2: chapters 6 - 136. So, "Frigid", the book within a book being written by Dusty and edited by Charlie. Fan fiction or a brutal hatchet piece?
I thought it was a brutal hatchet piece.
7. We get more of the backstory of Nora's life. Does this history give you hope for her future as well as explain her current attitude towards love?
It gives us more a back story about her feelings toward love but I thought she was going to turn it around.
8. Libby is at too much of a loose end - setting up a fake dating profile for Nora & everything!? What do you think this says about the sisters and their relationship?
I thought Libby was trying to make sure that Nora could experience what she had. She wanted to make sure Nora was taken care of in her own way.
9. So we've seen the failing business to be saved, been on a date to a karaoke night - are you enjoying seeing the Small-Town Romance cliches (and I loved that the song mutilated was the theme for that classic Small-Town, Second Chance Romance, Sweet Home Alabama!) being subverted?
I thought all the little cliches added to the story. It reminds me of a Hallmark movie.

DAY 1 QUESTIONS!!! prologue – 5 21%1. The book opens up with the quote: When books are your life-or in my case, your job- you get pretty good at guessing where a story is going." Where do you think this story is going? Is this your first Emily Henry Book? Do you think it will be like any of the others if you have read them before?
I've read one other Emily Henry book and need to read some more. I forgot to answer the questions so I'm going back to do that now, even though I wrote a set. Oops. When I started the book, I thought it was going to be about a family bonding trip. I wasn't sure if it would be like other ones or not.
2. Nora feels like she is losing Libby. She begins to notice all that they no longer know about each other, from Libby getting her ex's name wrong to the moments she has missed in the children's lives. Have you ever felt this way with a family member or friend? Did you ever do anything crazy to try to force the relationship back to what it used to be? How far do you think she will go to get this back with Libby?
Typical high school drama caused my childhood best friend and I to part ways for awhile but we ended up rebuilding our friendship in college and was in each other's weddings. I think sometimes a step back and re-evaluate needs to happen to make things right again. I thought she was going to do what she had to to make it right.
3. Have you ever visited a place after reading about it in a book? If so, was it as you expected it to be? If you could visit any real place from a book, where would you go?
I've never visited a place after reading about it but now I think I need to look into this more. I've wanted to go to Seattle for years and read a lot of books set there. I think that would be one place. Ireland would be my over the seas place. :)
4. I loved the list so much and the banter between the sister over it. What is your favorite item on the list? What would you do to fulfill it?
My favorite was wear flannel. I would definitely find a good flannel long sleeve shirt to wear and for giggles probably some overalls too.
5. My favorite scene so far has been when Nora sends the message " What about Bigfoot erotica? .... As soon as I hit send, I snap to my senses. Why of all the words available to me is this what I said?” What’s your favorite scene so far?
I think at this point I just liked all the banter going back and forth.
I can help fill in holes if someone can't finish something. I have no plans tomorrow so let me know. Such a fun team! This has been a fun TT group. :)
