I'm kind of glad that (view spoiler)[it turned out Damaris was the one stealing from the inn. She added so much negative energy to an already tense situation. I was immediately turned off to Damaris right at the beginning when Carly left the room and she turned to Michelle and called her names, etc. She had such a 'mean girl' vibe. So I felt bad for Michelle when she found out Damaris was stealing, but I think in the end she actually ended up being better off. (hide spoiler)]

I meant to just get started on this one this morning and ended up reading all of it today!

(view spoiler)[At first I wasn't sure why there was so much animosity between Carly and Michelle, but by the end I could understand. That's a lot for two teenagers to go through and I can see why it was easy for them to turn on each other. I'm glad they were able to resolve everything and get their friendship (and sisterhood!) back. The parents were definitely not great role models in their lives!

I agree the romance seemed kind of tacked on at the end, but I was ok with that. The story was really more about Carly and Michelle's relationship with each other.

Ugh and Ellen's high school grudge?? Get over it! (hide spoiler)]

I love Susan Mallery and will definitely be adding this to my series to read list. Her books are always great reads when you're looking for something light and fun or need a break from longer books.

(view spoiler)[Chapter 19. Ugh. I just kept thinking of my two dogs when I was reading and how sad I would be in her position.

Maggie was a little annoying with her laser focus on finding a man and starting a family. I think it caused her to act irrationally and do things like profess her love for Father Tim in front of the town and break up with Malone over an assumption. I'm glad she got out of her own way at the end and got together with Malone. I think they'll be good for each other.

The Father Tim storyline was a little weird. I definitely thought something was up and he was leaving the priesthood. It doesn't feel wrapped up that he just left with no explanation other than he was being transferred. (hide spoiler)]

I'll probably add this series to my "To Be Continued" list. It was entertaining and I'd be interested in learning more about other characters from the town.
