35559 Thanks NancyHelen, will do! Kindle edition is not really a problem but indeed it's the paperbooks (especially the ones from the library).
35559 I'm around 30% in the book.

About chapter 8,

35559 No problem, I'm good with your suggestion since I have no idea either. Looking forward to this one.

35559 I'm having a bit of a difficult time with The Cold Dish so I will put it aside for now and pick it up later.

About the book pages, I think I will be using the default edition in most cases for practical reasons. Some editions or translations are not on GR.

Regarding the GR choice awards; fantasy is not urban-fantasy, and it's a bit annoying that paranormal romance, historical romance and new adult are thrown together (especially since NA is taking over the romance section). I think it would be more logical if urban-fantasy and paranormal romance are put together.
35559 Taryn, the list you posted in your comment does it follow the intern chronological order?

Apparently you can read each book as a standalone. But I can't confirm that yet.

The Berangia sisters. I love that he's showing us strong women rather than telling us how strong they are, and it doesn't come with the price of hooking up with a guy."

I agree! I like the way Scott Lynch writes female characters in this series. They all kick some serious ass. Despite Nazca making few appearances, it really connected and she's a heroine I could root for.

Yep, same here, I wasn't convinced with the beginning too, it was a very slow start but after a couple of chapters I couldn't put it down.

35559 S?
35559 Not too late Cynthia. Also have to read this one, I'm a bit behind on the BR schedule already. I read the first book last week and enjoyed it, I will start this one tonight or tomorrow.

That makes me think of the Flanders Fields museum in Ypres. Before you enter you receive a sort of 'electronic bracelet' in the shape of a poppy, and each bracelet is another person that lived during WW I, then you follow his/her parcour through the museum. All the while you get typical war background noises, it's one of those museum that aims for full immersion of the visitor.

I second Cynthia. I did the Memorial and Museum Sachsenhausen and Jewish Museum in Berlin and some people still think it's the time and place to joke around. What Lauren said, I don't know what's wrong with them either.

Since we are on the subject, one of the best war series imo is Band of Brothers, hands down.

I can't begin to imagine how it was then. I visited Berlin and Checkpoint Charlie years after the fall of the Wall and I still felt that the mood was kind of oppressing. We went to see what is left of the Iron Curtain and it just gave me the chills.

35559 It's a long weekend for a lot of people here. We commemorate the end of WW I on 11 November (Armistice Day) and a lot of institutions/work are doing the bridge.

Also today is 25 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall.
