Easy-going mini ! I'm not reading any series books at the moment but might be able to help with the MPG.

Thank you for the info, Christina ! I wasn't aware.

Didn't know Girls Aloud were still together. My end year dance at high school was on Sound of the Underground. Have fun, Christina ! And the weather for the moment is great, a break from all the flooding on continental Europe.

In the end I've decided to skip
The Wishing Game. I don't really enjoy magical realism anyway so I think I don't really miss anything. I will place all my bets on the next July BOM. In the hope that it's at least readable.
Also, I've received a new job offer and resigned this week (I forgot how much I love resigning from an ungrateful job - it feels wonderful !). Will start my next job mid-August just after the end of this challenge. It also means I will be able to read more as I won't be stepping on the gas that much anymore..

I've finished my book
Katherine yesterday. Highly recommend it if you enjoy well researched historical fiction, slow burn romance, and political intrigue.
I'm interested in reading the next BOM,
The Familiar, I will join the discussion. Hopefully this is the BOM that will hit all the marks !

One Jason Momoa for me please.

Same here, massive thanks team for picking up mediocre books for the team !
I've read lots of drivel during my first team challenges when joining GR and it has been one of the reasons for my reading slump afterwards. I can't do it anymore.
I've been quite the picky reader and ideally would like to read only good books, even though I know that's overly optimistic :) My TBR pile is manageable though.

What a pity, Judy, that the BOM is again a bummer for you ! Maybe you should take a break for BOMs for a while :D

Is somebody on the team reading
The Wishing Game ? And if yes, how do you find it ? I'm a bit on the fence about picking it up as my next read considering the past BOM.

My vote goes to Karl as well !
So episode 4 of The Boys is out today - thanks, Jenny, I didn't know ! Will watch it this evening after work. That show is awesome. I'm so scared of Homelander everytime he's on screen but he's so compelling, the actor is great. I have a weakness for Frenchie though :) <3
Thank you for the link, Preeti, I'm going to check it out :) My favourite Hot Ones is the one with Gordon Ramsay.

Always a plus when the page count is just below 1000=P"Same here - I've organized my shelves by page number and try to tackle older and longer books for this challenge and have been pleasantly surprised by my reads so far :)

It's been a while since I've been on such a chatty team ! I'm always surprised by the amount of unread comments when I log into GR. Well done with round 1, team :)

I finally have time to log in to GR. I've been stuck in a series of job interviews and covering for two colleagues at work due to burn outs. I'm completely knackered. I went to sleep and woke up with still my book in my hands.
I've finished my book
Journal D'Un Bourgeois de Paris. It's a French chronicle about life in the 15th century. Very interesting ! People claiming they've been attacked by wolves, definitely a thing of the past now.
The arena battle seems like a lot of fun ! If I can help, I will.

Finished my book and enjoyed it a lot. It contains the words 'abundant' and 'harvest' - currently logged it in under 'abundant' for the mini but leave it completely up to you.

Checking in. I'm really enjoying my current book -
The Tokaido Road. It reads like a movie and at the same time I'm learning more about Japanese history and culture. For any one interested, the story takes place during a real historical event set in the 1700s: the Akō incident or more famously the revenge of the Forty-seven rōnin. The main characters are fictional though. I've been losing quite a bit of time while reading as I've been Googling some terms out of interest. Hope to sit down for a bit longer this evening and finish it today :)
And what a bummer about the BOMs ! Hope next month will be better.

Agree with that assessment, Judy! I've enjoyed Salt&Broom more than Malevolent as well. However it reads like a cozy mystery. I really like the cover though. I think it's always a shame when the content doesn't mirror the same awesomeness.

Agree, Fiona ! Hope your next book is more enjoyable.
Regarding the next BOMs, I will participate to
The Wishing Game discussion. Unfortunately I've read
Starling House during the UNO challenge so can't join that one however I can already say that in my opinion it's better than the current BOM.
