Currently enjoying the long weekend with lots of reading between some home painting.

The book refused to get better. Glad it's over, on to the next one :)

We have a new task. I was able to use one of our banked books to immediately complete a task. Our new incomplete task is:
Read a book where two people of different religions interact."
My last book, Avalon, works for this tasks if you wish to use it. Throughout the book the Christian missionaries try to convert the pagans that still believe in the old Norse gods. Some get baptized however some pagans relapse and revert back to the old belief.

Book: Avalon by Anya Seton
Date Read: June 01, 2025
Pages: 440
Rating: ★★★★ (recommended for historical fiction lovers who like well researched historical novels and don't mind to wait for the big pay-off :))
Tasks:
- Mini 1: set in England & Iceland & Denmark (Greenland)
(for the moment it doesn't fit the other open tasks)
------------------
Spell-it-out options:
A/S - Anya Seton (author)

M - Merewyn Ketilsdottir
D - Archbishop Dunstan
G - Gunnar
E - King Ethelred
O - Orm Sigurdson
K - Ketil Ketilson
H - Sigurd Hrutson
J - Jorund Helgison
B - Breaca

My current read is a good one so far though :) so all is well.

I just moved from Normandy and I miss its regional products already. Will need to find some new ones in my current region asap.

Oh no, haha, I didn't tag it 'history' or it would've been 10x but I don't know if that's allowed. I wouldn't naturally tag it history though.

C - Chadwick (ALN)
A - Ailith (character)

Book: The Amber Owl by Juliet Marillier
Date Read: May 24, 2025
Pages: 433
Rating: ★★ (one of my favourite authors, love her earlier works, however definitely not my favourite book. Tedious and boring read. Gorgeous cover though !)
Tasks:
- Mini 2 - 16. Read a book where a character is superstitious or believes in some myth or entity (characters belief in "fairy folk" and spirits of the forest)
- Mini 3 - Letter T (title) & letter A (title without "the")

Haha, yes ! Now every book I read contains the word 'candelabra' or 'toil'. Honestly I get slightly annoyed when I stumble upon them. Where were they a couple of challenges ago :')
