35559 Hi team, I hope everyone had or is having a great weekend!
We had some lovely sunny weather over here so I did some reading in the sun today. I had a slow start this month and I realise that I'm starting to lag behind in my 2017 GR challenge. I might have to go for a reading sprint at the end of the year :')

In any case I'm going to read Love and Gravity by Samantha Sotto and Dr. Mütter's Marvels A True Tale of Intrigue and Innovation at the Dawn of Modern Medicine by Cristin O'Keefe Aptowicz this month. I should squeeze in A Place Called Freedom by Ken Follett as well but I will see how it goes. Btw just in case there are Ken Follet readers in the team, I recently found out that a 3rd book in The Pillars of the Earth series will be published this year: A Column of Fire (The Pillars of the Earth #3) by Ken Follett .

Hi Claire, hope you're enjoying your extended weekend as well :)
Btw I can't find this book on your TTV shelf. Can you please check?
35559 Back Roads by Tawni O'Dell by Tawni O'Dell

Harley Altmyer should be in college drinking Rolling Rock and chasing girls. He should be freed from his closed-minded, stricken coal town, with its lack of jobs and no sense of humor. Instead, he's constantly reminded of just how messed up his life is.

With his mother in jail for killing his abusive father, Harley is an orphan with the responsibilities of an adult and the fiery, aggressive libido of a teenager. Just nineteen years old, he's marooned in the Pennsylvania backwoods caring for his three younger sisters, whose feelings about him range from stifling dependence to loathing. And once he develops an obsession with the sexy, melancholic mother of two living down the road, those Victoria's Secret catalogs just won't do the trick anymore. He wants Callie Mercer so badly he fears he will explode. But it's the family secrets, the lies, and the unspoken truths that light the fuse and erupt into a series of staggering surprises, leaving what's left of his family in tatters. Through every ordeal, the unforgettable Harley could never know that his endearing humor, his love for his sisters, and his bumbling heroics would redeem them all.

35559 Checking in before going to bed. Regarding Guardians of the Galaxy 2, I had pretty much the same feeling, Kristie. I still thought it was a lot of fun however I liked the first one better and the music as well.

We had nice weather this weekend, maybe a bit too warm by my standards (29°C = 84.2°F) but I had a great day yesterday, we went to visit the 101st Airborne museum and the Bastogne War Museum. After that we had a field trip in the gift shop (we bought so much!).

Doing great, Team!

Beth, I completely agree. I even wrote a small rant in my review space. I just couldn't take it anymore, regarding the writing style I wouldn't even enjoy it if it was written in my native languages. It seemed rather contrived. I hope you will like it better than I did!

35559 Sorry for being so quiet lately, I immediately collapse of tiredness everytime I come home from work. However thanks to Ascension (and my company does the bridge on Friday) I will have a nice extended weekend filled with sunshine and much reading :D
I'm planning to visit Bastogne again over the weekend as well and enjoy some long walks.

Currently reading A Fine And Bitter Snow. I will definitely finish that and The Color of Our Sky this month.

35559 @ Nicole: I can't see Never Never on your TT V shelf. I also noticed that you've shelved Bound by Temptation which is correct on the spreadsheet however Bound by Honor shows up on the spreadsheet with a read date 16th of december 2015 (I presume that's the day you added the book on your tbr shelf). Could you please check and change the read date in order for it to count :)

35559 @Claire: No worries, thank you!

Hi Vanessa, don't forget to put your finished books on your TTV shelf in order for it to count. The spreadsheet will register this book once you've put it on your shelf with a read date.

Claire, don't forget to put the read date ;-) The spreadsheet is currently not picking up this book.
May 13, 2017 12:14PM

35559 In case you haven't seen it yet, the BOM for June are up:

You (You, #1) by Caroline Kepnes --> starts 2nd of June
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas --> starts 12th of June
The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower, #1) by Stephen King --> starts 22nd of June

The one I most want to read is The Gunslinger. There's a movie starring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey loosely based on the series that will be out soon if I'm not mistaken.

35559 Doing great team!
I'm planning to finish my current book The Singing Of The Dead this weekend. A Fine And Bitter Snow and The Color of Our Sky are up next for this month.

Tomorrow I'm going to the cinema to watch Guardians of the Galaxy 2. I was waiting for my sister to come back home for the weekend from university in order to watch it together. We are excited to finally watch this movie. Its prequel was one of the best movies in the MCU.

Claire, I think you have a duplicate here. The Dutch version on your Tower Building shelf is not read nor rated. You've another English version on your 'books-from-every-year-of-life‎' shelf which is rated. Maybe you can keep your Dutch version (put date read and rating on that one) and remove the other one? For the moment the spreadsheet is not picking up this book.

Hi Claire, I just checked, but unfortunately it's still not showing on the spreadsheet because there's no read date on the edition that you put on your Tower shelf :/
