And if yes, which one do you suggest if you could recommend only one ? Just in case book 1 might not be the best way to start the series :)

I know which thread I'll be visiting when I'm having an off day.
@Jenny: Same :) If TT is Discworld themed, I was thinking I should read it too; also to understand the references etc

It has been 3 years since I've participated to TT, no idea how much the challenge changed but maybe it suggests the theme ?
Sooo, how do we bribe the mods for another clue :p

Also NBRC created my obsession with spreadsheets haha :D

The Foundling by Stacey Halls
London, 1754.
Six years after leaving her illegitimate daughter Clara at London's Foundling Hospital, Bess Bright returns to reclaim the child she has never known. Dreading the worst - that Clara has died in care - the last thing she expects to hear is that her daughter has already been reclaimed - by her. Her life is turned upside down as she tries to find out who has taken her little girl - and why. Less than a mile from Bess' lodgings in the city, in a quiet, gloomy townhouse on the edge of London, a young widow has not left the house in a decade. When her close friend - an ambitious young doctor at the Foundling Hospital - persuades her to hire a nursemaid for her daughter, she is hesitant to welcome someone new into her home and her life. But her past is threatening to catch up with her and tear her carefully constructed world apart.
From the bestselling author of The Familiars, and set against the vibrant backdrop of Georgian London, The Foundling explores families, secrets, class, equality, power and the meaning of motherhood.

Yes ! He basically had me at 'Guardians of the Galaxy' haha
I just love it when they put the 'serious' person at the head of a group of misfits...there's so much potential for a wild ride

Can also write DQs.

All I ended op doing is making a list of books I'm in the mood to read for that month and I will probably desperately try to fit the books to tasks with max points haha
Frankly I don't know which is more time consuming. May the best planner/mood reader win !

It should be talking about 11 books (and will do when I'm next in the mod account."
Thank you, Sophie ! No worries, completely understandable :) Signing up now

If Sally reads 6 books in March and 4 in April, she would still be considered in the EDGE category as for one of the months she was eligible for that category.
Does this mean that if you read 6 books a month you fit in the Edge category even if Centre is less than 10 books/month ?
Or is my brain too tired right now to process the information correctly... please enlighten me :)

Stepsister by Jennifer Donnelly
Isabelle should be blissfully happy – she’s about to win the handsome prince. Except Isabelle isn’t the beautiful girl who lost the glass slipper and captured the prince’s heart. She’s the ugly stepsister who’s cut off her toes to fit into Cinderella’s shoe ... which is now filling with blood.
When the prince discovers Isabelle’s deception, she is turned away in shame. It’s no more than she deserves: she is a plain girl in a world that values beauty; a feisty girl in a world that wants her to be pliant.
Isabelle has tried to fit in. To live up to her mother’s expectations. To be like her stepsister. To be sweet. To be pretty. One by one, she has cut away pieces of herself in order to survive a world that doesn’t appreciate a girl like her. And that has made her mean, jealous, and hollow.
Until she gets a chance to alter her destiny and prove what ugly stepsisters have always known: it takes more than heartache to break a girl.

I'm Audrey and I live in Belgium. I'm in love with hiking, remote locations, and breathtaking sceneries. And also good books of course (favourite genres are mystery, historical fiction, non-fiction, and fantasy). I'm moving to the capital tomorrow and I'm hoping the experience isn't going to kill me since I come from the countryside.
Like most of you I've been participating in some of the past team challenges on NBRC or other groups on GR, and I enjoyed them all. Glad to be in good hands with our team captains.

The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin
A groundbreaking work of science fiction, The Left Hand of Darkness tells the story of a lone human emissary to Winter, an alien world whose inhabitants can choose -and change - their gender. His goal is to facilitate Winter's inclusion in a growing intergalactic civilization. But to do so he must bridge the gulf between his own views and those of the completely dissimilar culture that he encounters.
Embracing the aspects of psychology, society, and human emotion on an alien world, The Left Hand of Darkness stands as a landmark achievement in the annals of intellectual science fiction.
