Agree re: Archangel, the religious aspect and revelations are a bit weird, quite the dark read come to think of it.
Looking forward to read Troubled Waters :)

Please let me know how you like it. It is 1 of my favourite books. :)"
Sure :) I've read Summers at Castle Auburn, Mystic and Rider, and Archangel by the same author. Enjoyed them all except for Archangel, didn't like the main characters (even though it had great premise).

I'm always suprised by how popular european comics are, especially since not all of them have been translated. I grew up with Jommeke (no english variant), Suske en Wiske (Bob et Bobette in french), Gaston Lagaffe, and Astérix. Those were my favourites. I could never warm up to Tintin though. I prefer the more humorous ones, also Suske en Wiske had a time travelling machine which is pretty awesome :D I mean look how high tech it is ! :

Same here, Sammy :( Non-stop rain and wind. I think we're sharing the same clouds :p I can cope with rain but wind is horrible.
The wifi goes on/off so I'm saving all my work as quickly as I can.

Also, one vote for Padalecki although I enjoy Leto's works (as well as his eyes).

I love when that happens :)
Off perusing my shelves! I enjoy planning books so much :D

I've definitely plenty of options for the letter E if we still need them. Will check my shelves and add them later.

*High five* Très bien, Sammy :) ! I love Dumas and all his ghostwriters haha

I need to take some time to clean up my garden as well because it's a mess. The leaves are just lying there taunting me ! I'm also in the mood for a good bonfire :D (And I need to put up some bird feeders too. Had to rescue a robin out of my living room yesterday.)

Off the top of my head I know I will be able to cover one Q and one U at least. I will also be reading the French version of Twenty Years After (takes place 20 years after The Three Musketeers) which will normally generate quite some letters.

We won't get our new word for a couple of days, but the info for round 5 is out!

Yes..."
Look at those beauties :D

'Hydroxychloroquine' is such a stunner !

Hope you all have a nice weekend ! And take care, Laura.

It's a real chore to go through the book when that happens. I thought it overall pretty average and a bit boring. Might have enjoyed it more as a teenager maybe. It's unfortunate when we grow out of a certain genre. YA is one of them, UF is another (except for anything by Ilona Andrews :))

whelp... thanks for the catch Sammy.. I didn't even noticed it was a BOM :("
Yes :) I changed the edition on my shelf just in case.

23) Well, Susan finally meets her father and learns what happened. Was that interaction what you were expecting? Were you hoping for more, that he would fight the evil with her?
Honestly, not really. I thought their reunion a bit underwhelming after all that build up but it seems to fit with the image we have of "ancient identities" or gods.
24) Susan finally got to use that trusty butterknife. Was her binding what you thought it would be or was it a bit of a let down that she wasn't able to control the bear and use it as a weapon?
Felt like an opportunity missed. Luckily she had the salt for her sandwich!
25) And we get the final showdown with Holly, learn who he is, the connection with Susan, etc. What did you think of the final battle with him and his bouncing head?
Haha, the bouncing head was weird to picture in my mind. It wasn't really a big showdown, I didn't feel the stakes were high. I am concerned about the casual approach to killing people though when they were mind controlled.
26) Were you satisfied with the ending? What did you think of Jassmine's comments about Susan's father (it wasn't going to be a relationship that lasted), did that surprise you like it did Susan? The whole story was bit 'meh' so I wasn't that invested in finding out Susan's father. No, not surprising but it's unfortunate we didn't get more insight in their love affair.
