Haha, he must be really proud of his humans! Mark my words, one day cats will rule the world.
I recently watched a video that made me laugh out loud called 'purranormal activity' which was really relatable - here's the link for the ones interested : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEqJj...

Nice to meet you too, Steven !
I swear sometimes the level of arrogance with which my cats are looking at me, it's like they are conviced they're better than me. The worst thing is they know they are pretty and can get away with everything...Please send help asap !

Oh good, I'm on the right team then ;)

Glad it was your nomination. Have some chocolate left from Easter so that should see me through."
Will do :)
Yes !! Great excuse to eat some chocolate (as if I need an excuse to eat chocolate...)

I was planning to join the discussion for The Cartographers but I'm a bit behind with my individual challenges. I might jump in later though. Hope it's a good one !

Quickly checked the archives and this will be my 5th TT. Have participated on and off when real life permits. I'm not a speed reader but always try to make up for it with page count/BOM participations :)
I read pretty much anything however I do have 'literary pet peeves' which are more prevalent in certain genres. I'm Dutch/French speaking and occassionally read in those languages, especially non-fiction/history books. I take special interest in medical history books and history of the common folk/daily life (studied history at uni).
I was on Alison's team last Wheels and currently in a team with Keri in another group.
Looking forward to get to know you all and talk books ! I predict we'll have lots of fun but of course no one will believe us...again ;)

Last Wheels was pretty heavy I agree Sammy. Loved the team but the ghosting was unfortunate. Wishing you a great & fun team challenge without a burn out this round !

Edit: Team Cassandra

Wishing you a lovely trip Lisa & Steven! Also enjoy all the scones :)

The Eagle and the Raven
Pyramids
The Thief Of Time
Sixteen Ways to Defend a Walled City

Madame Bovary is a good story, might be a little dated these day..."
Great list! May I recommend Fear and Trembling, it's a short book and quite funny about the author's intern job in Tokyo.
You can also check out Marc Levy's books (writes contemporary/romance), most of them have been translated into English and are short. Or Georges Simenon (writes mystery/thrillers).
Hope you find something you like!

The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa
Nana the cat is on a road trip. He is not sure where he's going or why, but it means that he gets to sit in the front seat of a silver van with his beloved owner, Satoru. Side by side, they cruise around Japan through the changing seasons, visiting Satoru's old friends. He meets Yoshimine, the brusque and unsentimental farmer for whom cats are just ratters; Sugi and Chikako, the warm-hearted couple who run a pet-friendly B&B; and Kosuke, the mournful husband whose cat-loving wife has just left him. There's even a very special dog who forces Nana to reassess his disdain for the canine species.
But what is the purpose of this road trip? And why is everyone so interested in Nana? Nana does not know and Satoru won't say. But when Nana finally works it out, his small heart will break...

We were pretty sure that Tower Teams would be..."
So there's still hope ;-)

Aww, RIP Wobble !

Chapters 31-27
16. I loved the idea of the golems with the bucket feet, but even more than that how her aunt had to decorate their faces (with a smile but angry eyebrows!). For a war scene, I found there was a lot of humour. How about you?
Yes, the humor was well done. It helped me enjoying the book a bit more.
17. I wondered if Mona was done for and that is why it is a stand alone book. :o Were you surprised by Molly stepping in and sacrificing herself?
Yes, didn't see that coming. She was my favourite character.
18. "You haven't lived until you've seen a cookie look smug". The gingerbread man really was a great character. Who was your favourite?
Knackering Molly.
19. Final thoughts on the book? Will you read more by the author?
It took me a while to get through. I thought it was ok. I've read 4 books by this author. My favourite so far is The Seventh Bride. I like retellings so I'm planning to read her next book Nettle & Bone.

13. After successfully kicking Oberon out, we get to see Mona trying to settle back into her routine, but struggling with the notion of heroism. What do you think about the different notions of being a hero that are brought up here?
I expected that she would be able to prove that she could achieve big things even with her small amount of magic. Heroes die in fame but I love that she wants none of that and rather live a long peaceful life instead.
14. A montage sequence of Mona practicing with her magic. What sort of magic would you like?
Time travel. Both in the past and future. However teleporting is a close second but would likely use it for silly things like going to work so I can sleep/hit snooze a bit longer
15. The other shoe drops, and we are at war! And another montage of the war preparations. Do you think the shift from caper to war worked? Do you like the growth in Mona and Spindle?
Yes!

I recently read a couple of YA new releases. You're not missing much in my opinion.
