Eunice’s comments from the Nothing But Reading Challenges group.

I really like how Robb (or Roberts) writes this series. She mixes the mysteries and the romance well. And I like the slow development of Roarke and Eve's relationship too.

All the connections between the characters involved in the case make my head spin. Like wow. Incestuous indeed. (view spoiler)[And I don't just mean Richard and Carly's blood relation. They're all connected with each other in some way or another, mostly because of Richard's manwhoring. He sure got the spotlight here. (hide spoiler)] It seems like such a small world.

Trueheart's a great character. He's so enthusiastic with his job. His surname's pretty fitting, I'd say.

In the Order HQ (view spoiler)[I was internally cheering Nick on when he started kicking Ted. Seriously, I wish the higher-ups could've kicked him out of the Order sooner. I feel bad for the deaths of the knights, especially Mauro. It was just pointless death, all for the sake of letting Ted go out with a bang. (hide spoiler)]

Kate (view spoiler)[The scene when she went to rescue Robert and Christopher was fun to read. It was funny when Landon just tried to scramble away from the Kate's sword. And the way she dealt with the obstacles Roland sent against her. Badass. I feel like that's one word I've been constantly describing her with for the past few books. (hide spoiler)]

Roland (view spoiler)[I sort of feel bad for him because I can see that he cares for Kate in his own weird way. I guess he was probably thinking that it was for the best like this since Kate would've turned out to be like the rest of his children otherwise. (hide spoiler)]

Yeah, Jennifer is quickly going up on my list of least favorite characters. She wants to stay as Alpha, but she's too cowardly and afraid of making mistakes, resorting to throwing all the dirty jobs and politics to Desandra.

What are a vampire's weaknesses? Because they vary depending on the person/series/site. Sunlight's the most popular one. Cross, salt, stake, garlic??

Highlighted my books for spells. Aside from Kate Daniels #2 and 3, I highlighted the books I read for that series so far.

The Girl on the Train - was used for the spell Expecto Patronum in the planning spreadsheet, but not in the official one.


Magic Burns - can be used for Divination, but Karishma, who read the same book, also intends to use this for the same task.

Kate Daniels books - for Transfiguration with the person/sword/lion on the cover. (Animagi counts as transfiguration, right?) I only added #3 to the Transfiguration class.

Finished Dead as a Doornail for DADA.

Finished the book.

Why do I feel like everybody's out for the pack? There's always something against them.

Hugh (view spoiler)[ What a crazy manipulative bastard. Arranging the negotiations in his castle just to lure in Kate. Where on earth did he get this idea anyway? I was a bit disturbed at the fight though. Ugh. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[The Kate-Mahon moment was sweet, and I love it. I didn't expect it from him of all people, but that's what gave the scene more impact.

And Aunt B was just awesome in this book. I started liking her much more and then they do this to her. It's frustrating.

They scored gold with Christopher though. Even though he's a bit wrong in the head now after months of imprisonment, he's got a fountain of knowledge in that head which could be useful in the future. (hide spoiler)]

I had to make myself not laugh out loud at that part. Everyone else was just itching to get out of the room.

The way they slowly get better at being in a relationship from their crappy start is what makes following their romance much more fun.

I was really excited for the naked dinner, so I was a bit disappointed it didn't happen. You could tell just how she felt when he didn't show up. And I'm so glad that they made up eventually (and their flirting was funny), but I'm sure this will happen again.

Setting aside the romance, I felt a bit disturbed that Kate and Erra looked almost the same. Woah, Roland's genes sure are strong. It's a good thing he doesn't show his face to many people or else Kate would have been caught ages ago.

I'll be joining the BR for Crooked Kingdom (if there will be one), but not Six of Crows. Just to clarify

If the dark creatures don't have to be from the HP universe, I can read Dead as a Doornail for vampires.

Could one book be read by different members for one task? Can I still add Magic Burns for divination even though Karishma also used the same book for the same task?

The series is starting to focus on to Kate and her past now.

And at this point, Hugh couldn't be too sure yet. She's probably going to accumulate more power and power words in the next few books. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Julia was so adorable, and I want to strangle that Red for being such a power-hungry bastard and taking advantage of her. I wonder if he'd regret his decision in the future.

As for Curran and Kate, I see a romance blooming! I think they're quite alike in terms of their personalities and amount of emotional baggage, which is why they can stand each other and get along, but at the same time, it could cause problems since they're both stubborn and unyielding.

Also, the references were a nice touch. It was a bit funny when nobody got it, hahaha. (hide spoiler)]
