35559 Lol, thanks! I randomly have the 19th off work, and am hoping to use it to catch up if I’ve fallen behind at that point :)
35559 I'm in, and can also be a back-up for DQs, though I'm saying upfront that I might get a bit off-schedule.

I long for the halcyon days of yore when my job wasn't so obnoxiously stealing my reading & audiobooking time. D:

35559 OH GOD ME TOO.
I wish the food thing would stop in my brain! And I didn't even play for the entire game!

And with that official start time, for me it’s 8pm Sunday night! Totally staying up late reading and taking Monday off work, haha!

35559 Okay okay, this Awfully Wee Hamish has signed up.

My daughter, who is an Especially Wee Jock, will now proceed to mock me for doing TT again after how intense it got last time. ;D

35559 I kind of took a break from this challenge to focus on some newer stuff but I will definitely resume soon. I at least want to hit 50% at 6 months in and I'm nearly there.
Maybe I'll read The Grimm Legacy in the next couple of weeks... :)

35559 Random question that's not about a Team Challenge but...

@Mods, will there be a DEAR Day on 12 April this year?
I'm looking for a good excuse to take a whole day off work. :D

35559 I’m Awfully Wee Hamish, lol.

@Eldarwen — my hesitancy is is partly my reading less, but even more about my lower ability to engage in threads. I love a chatty team and would feel sad about not being able to chat so much.

Most likely I will sign up though. Y’all make it hard to stay away. 😂

35559 Oooooh...

*wants to sign up but worries because Real Life is in the way*

But... TT is for Rejoicing!

Good thing I still have a bit of time to decide :)

Oh man, that is on my old TBRs too. Hardcover sitting on the shelf... :/

Adding to TBR, darn it.

It’s been soooooooo long since I read that, wow.

My partner went to culinary school many years ago and worked as a restaurant cook / sous-chef part-time for a time, all while still maintaining his day job in tech. It was grueling but at least not as full of bullshit as Anthony B’s experiences. And I did not like being a “kitchen widow” so I was glad when he stopped. Now he just experiments at home and has a food blog, lol.
I think he may have met Anthony B once or twice actually.

35559 Done!
#832

29 books, 129 words

I could do more, without adding anything from actual HP books, but not before my self-imposed deadline of 3/15. So this feels like a good place to stop. :D

It so is. I'm through the short stories following #10, but you're going to pass me soon, lol. I try to space series out rather than reading installments back to back, so I'll probably get to #11 sometime in the next few months.

Ooh, that one is good. I liked it even better than #s 1 and 3, the latter of which I just read a couple of weeks ago.

35559 Three more down:

Broken Elements (Elements, #1) by Mia Marshall
Entertaining, but kind of slow.

Chase the Dark (Steel & Stone, #1) by Annette Marie
The opposite problem! Entertaining, but too fast. Not enough world- or character-building. Plenty of really hot boys though, lol.

The Ballad of Black Tom by Victor LaValle
I really liked this. Definitely lifts the middle finger to the more problematic aspects of Lovecraft.
35559 Well it does say the King is handsome, which surprises Lei.

I... just... have no idea how that is possible for a Moon caste if they’re supposed to be the most animal-like. Unless all the Paper-humans in this book are really that indoctrinated so as to find bovine features attractive?

If so, well, at least it becomes a compliment if you say somebody looks like a cow. 😝
