Devann wrote: "in my experience that means about 60-75k words as long as there aren't a ton of pictures, but michelle or jenny might have to ask the mods to be sure"Yeah. It was more just like different word exchanges (like transcripts of conversations, or text messages, or just dialogue). It would probably be easier to just not include it, to be on the safe side, but figured I'd check!
Question: I just finished an ARC of
Game Changer but am unsure of how to check the page numbers/if it counts for TT. I'm totally fine if it doesn't count (I needed to read it anyway for a review), but figured I'd check!Below is the description of the format from the publisher. It's 304 pages, but not on AR yet, so I can't confirm word count.
"Told in an innovative, multimedia format combining dialogue, texts, newspaper articles, transcripts, an online forum, and Teddy’s inner thoughts, Game Changer explores the joyous thrills and terrifying risks of America’s most popular sport."
Murder on the Half Shelf by Lorna BarrettDate Read: 6/6/18
# of Pages: 293
Spells: M, L, B for title/author and T, A, E, H for main characters Tricia, Angelica, Mr. Everett and Harry
Classes: Cat, small dog and bed on cover
Sentenced to Death by Lorna BarrettDate Read: 6/5/18
# of Pages: 327
Spells: S, L, B for title/author and T, A, E, G for main characters Tricia, Angelica, Elizabeth and Ginny
Classes: cat and small dog on cover (fairly small), could be used for a transfiguration, maybe? Not really sure there or where else it fits. The covers in this series don't lend themselves to much help in classes so far. :(

Jammin Jenny wrote: "@Devann, I found a book on my kindle titled "Broken Heart Syndrome" so maybe we can match that up with the book you just posted titled "Thieves at Heart" for a mending spell."One of the books I read over the weekend Through the Grinder
has a small broken heart inside the coffee grinder on the cover, so that could be used as well!I also officially "discovered" the cozy mystery genre this weekend and fell in love! Such fun reads and great mysteries without a lot of the darkness that makes back-to-back thriller reads hard. :)
Murder is Binding by Lorna BarrettDate Read: 6/3/18
# of Pages: 281
Spells: M, L, B for title/author and T, A, for main characters Tricia and Angelica
Classes: Not really sure. maybe Potions for the Salamander Blood (where someone is murdered in a mystery/thriller) but it was a cozy mystery, so not sure if that would be the same thing. And since many more true thrillers fit the bill for Salamander blood, it might be better off not used.
Through the Grinder by Cleo CoyleDate Read: 6/3/18
# of Pages: 270
Spells: T, C for title/author and C, M, J, Q for main characters Claire, Mateo, Joy and Detective Quinn
Classes:
Transfiguration Maybe? There is a small broken heart on the cover (inside the coffee grinder).
Otherwise could go with fluffy if we are putting cozy mysteries into that category.
On What Grounds by Cleo CoyleDate Read: 6/2/18
# of Pages: 275
Spells: O, C for title/author and M, Q, C for main characters Mateo, Claire and Detective Quinn
Classes:
Divination Character uses Coffee Grounds to look into the future (sort of like reading tea leaves)
**Also probably could be considered "fluffy" since it is a cozy mystery and some sites use fluffy in describing what a cozy mystery is
I'm in! I joined NG last month officially and reviewed 3 books, but committed to more for June. So this should help my accountability. Start of Month
A. # of Books on Shelf: 5
B. Books on Shelf
C. Ratio: 38% (I was at 100% before I requested books for June, but I only have 8 books total, so each book carries more weight being new.)
Finished
Game Changer Review
Planting Gardens in Graves II Review
Body Swap ReviewEnd of Month:
a: What books you read:
b: Link(s) to your review(s): See above
c: Your updated shelf count: 10
d: Your updated books to read: 5
e: Your updated ratio: 60%
Overall, a decent month, but I also added a few too. So far, I've enjoyed every (all 6 of them, lol) Netgalley book I've read!

Happy to find another audio listener of this book! I'm from Team Draco! I'm listening to this one was well (first time listening to any of the books)

What are the rules for determining page # count? Sounds like a stupid question, but as I was updating my "to read, already owned" books on here, I noticed some of the editions I have are those mass market paperback (small, short and thick) ones which had almost 200 pages more than the original versions of the book. So that got me thinking about the varying page numbers by editions. Usually it's not that different, but some had a huge difference. I'm assuming you count the pages of the book that you have physically read, but those mass market ones feel like pretty short pages. Not sure if I'll make it to the ones I'm talking about for TT, but for example
has 1,400 pages, but
has 817 pages. I know this book was re-published with a ton more words/pages, but its technically the same book.
Devann wrote: "yeah i could barely get the pages to load for like an hour last night, it said the site was over capacity, then when it came back all my dates were gone lolalso if we still need a red book and an..."
Good to know I wasn't alone there! Logging in today and seeing my yearly total go down to "0" books read was quite a surprise, lol.
Jammin Jenny wrote: "Hey guys. If you do read a fluffy/chick-lit or romance book, please post the cover when you are posting the read book, and let us know it's "chick-lit" or "fluffy" or "romance" when you are listing..."What is the general determining factor in if its chick-lit or fluffy? I started reading some of Janet Evanovich's books recently, but can't really determine what genre they belong in since they are part mystery, part romance, part humor but all very light reads. :)
