Keely’s comments from the Nothing But Reading Challenges group.

I had a sneaky look at other teams sheets and they have all done longer chains that were always 4 or longer or 4 lots of 4. We may be better doing the 4 lots of 4 in that case.

From what I can tell, we would need one more book that is #3 to make that work.
But I also feel like the last chain should be allowed to be shorter. But we would still need another #3 book or a #5.

The rules for the mini say "Your chains must contain at least 4 books and you can use up to 16 books in this section."

The first chain we have already has 5. So we could start a new chain. I could be wrong with this, but that is the way I read it. And after having a quick look at the spreadsheet, we can do a chain 1-4 twice more with books that haven't been used for anything yet. That would mean the last chain would only be 3 long though, if we manage it. I don't know if that goes against the rules.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, it looks like we could start again from 1 as it says chains must be more than 4. It looks like we have enough to do 1-4 at least one more time, maybe even twice.

I'm not sure how many more books I'll finish. I've got a busy week planned, but should have the evenings and maybe a day or two to get some reading done. I'll definitely get the ones I've listed on the spreadsheet done and then if time allows, another couple of shorter/medium size books.

If Maddy is happy covering most of our spots then I can just carry on reading what I can for the mini

I can probably cover one. The easiest for me would probably be horror, but I can look on audible plus for any of the categories

I just had a count and I have about 25 books that I added in 2012 that are on my Kindle as they were free. I don't expect to get through them all this year (or more than about 3), but if I start any of them and they don't grab me in the first 10-20 pages or the writing is just too bad (which I have experienced before in these free books) I am simply going to delete them. Life is too short to waste my time on such books, espeically when there are so many books out there I would enjoy instead.

I'm going to be giving the restaurant one a miss as I am moving really soon, but I don't think I'd be able to resist Wheel, especially if it is towards the end of the year.

I added a pair of books. They are both pretty short so I should get them done soon. Won't be worth many points, but will help us out for the pair thing.

Don't look at me, I'm no good at that either!

I finished a few off my TBR recently. The one I am the most glad to be read was The Catcher in the Rye as it was my oldest book on my TBR. I'm currently up to 48 read. My goal was 50, but I have now raised that to 70.
I also deleted about 8 books off my TBR recently. I went through and looked at books that I don't have access to and that I'm not really interested in anymore.

I'm hoping to finish a couple of longer books this week. And then I plan to read at least one more 800+ page book before the end as well as a couple of shorter ones. I'll try and help out where I can with the mini too.

I did read Pillars this challenge. I enjoyed it so I hope you enjoy it too.

As fun as this challenge looks, I think I need a break from team challenges for a bit. Especially as I'm going to be moving soon and will either be busy with renovating or work (if I find a job quickly).
I hope you all have fun. I'll cheer in the background and hopefully see you all in the team challenge after this.

I also just volunteered for warships for audiobook.

I've currently got too many books on the go right now. I got excited by all the free time I currently have to finally get through some books. One will definitely get finished today, and then the next should follow in a day or two.
