I’m not going to be able to finish my U book. I’m just not getting any time to read with my granddaughter with me. I’m so sorry. Hopefully there’s time for someone else to do one.

Can anyone recommend a simple audiobook player where you can change the speed without changing the pitch? I usually just use the library app (Libby) or the Audible app and they work great. But I have an old MP3 book I downloaded that I want to listen to. (Audacity is too complicated. It takes several steps to adjust the speed and I want to be able to do it in the moment.) Thanks.

Whoops, sorry!
I found out we're leaving for our long weekend with my granddaughter a day early, Wednesday. So I only can read one more book after I finish this one. U seems to be the worst letter so I spent two hours last night and finally found two of them. One is over 50 years old, too. So I won't reach my cap but I'll only fall short by one book and hopefully help the team with a horrible letter.

But any program I'm downloading now is so complicated, I can't just pause and rewind 30 second with a press or two of the mouse and the changing the playback speed takes a super long time so I can't change it mid book. (Sometimes the sex scenes are really boring or there are too many of them so I like to play them really fast and slow down to my usual fast speed once they're done. Or I'm trying to find a specific scene.)
For example, with Audacity you have to select what portion of the book you want to change the speed for and you have to wait so changing it to high quality takes hours. Low quality is fine but you still have to choose the whole book or how long you guess is the scene.
The windows player is simple but it only let's me choose between five presets so I can go 1.5 speed or regular not 1.25 or 1.35 which I usually use depending on the narrator.
Anything like Audible out there?

RE: My "O" book. In my head I read that wrong. 264 isn't great but I don't feel that guilty since I'm listening to books and they take longer to get through. I have another 260-ish page one I have to read for another challenge. I'm hoping to read my max number of books this iteration again so that will help.

I found an "O" book I really want to read and it's at Audible free.
It's only 264 pages. Unless I read it in French which adds another 100 pages but since I can't read French, that's a no-go. :) Is that enough for this awkward letter? Or should I keep looking?

I didn't read this before posting. I took the last color spot. There's already a yellow there, but that doesn't matter. I can remove mine if you want the spot.

Us and Os are so hard! All the books I can find on my lists are like under 280 pages and even those aren't audiobooks so I can't read more than one probably.

To Fetch a Felon. I put it in for a color (teal) instead of the finance minigame because I didn't think it would work, but we're finding the cover colors easily. I read it this round, 11/12/2024. (I finished it in the wee hours of the morning yesterday because I stayed up to finish it!)
If it's too late, it's a learning experience. :)

I'm so sorry, Brittany. I hope things get better for you soon. Don't worry about it Melissa. I should have refrained from marking it as read on the spreadsheet. It's already been sent to the pie in the sky/official spreadsheet.
M-everything looked like it was marked as read when I saw your message Friday.

In my book, the character worked in finance before moving to a new town at the start of the book. She isn't positive she's going to move and mentions several times she worked in finance. She helps build a business plan for one of the characters and looks at another's books. Can she count as finance? Sorry to ask these obscure questions.

Excellent! He has lots of dialog. And that picture is apropos: The dog is a Corgi!

That sounds nice.

Can a talking dog be considered a character? He and his owner are the main characters but only she can hear him. Some of the chapters are from his perspective.

I know, right? The word matched Chocolate.
Bummer on the fourth minigame. I had to drop it. It turned out to be a full cast recording with music and everything. I can't stand those.
How are people doing with U? I've only found a couple and I have to buy them on Audible because the library doesn't have them.
Melissa wrote: "You can use periwinkle :) and they can be doubled. As long as there are more than 50% of the color. "Perfect. Thanks!

My first four books match minigames!! I got the H2O!

Does it matter if there's a duplicate of colors in the flowers the minigames? If so, do they have to be basic colors like blue and green or could I use "periwinkle"?

I'm trying not to use any book that can't go at least three places and put it in the notes at the end. The book I'm reading now has five! I haven't found something with office stuff yet, but I'm working on it.

For the mini "the clue to solving a murder is found in paperwork," Melissa, you had your name on it but no title, date read, nothing. It wasn't in the round 3 spreadsheet page either. So I went ahead and put my book there. If I shouldn't have done that, let me know.
