Hello team! My name is Tone (she/her) and I live in Oslo, Norway. This is my third tower challenge and I'm so excited to be here!
I'm an accountant by day and a reader by night. Gotta balance all those numbers with some words! My hobbies include playing video games, traveling and I'm just picking up golf. I live with my boyfriend with a beautiful view of the fjord.

Thanks for this challenge everyone and especially thanks to the suuuper captains!😍 I loved all the challenges (except for you Zeus in the title). I got some old books off my TBR and also read some new books and series recommended by you teammates!

I would just like to inform that I unfortunately won't be able to finish Dance of Thieves before the challenge ends :( I see that it is set as the last pair of Erato? I'm going away this weekend so I won't have any time to read, and I think I just finished my last book of the challenge.

I'm going on holiday tomorrow and I've brought loads of books (way too many:) and most of them have been read by others during the challenge :) We'll see how many I actually get to though 😅 but for sure I'll get a couple down!

Sorry! I’m on a «sporty» holiday😂 not much time on the phone (but I am managing to sneak in a little reading!) About Emily Henry, I read Beach Read earlier in the challenge and it wad quite enjoyable! I have also read People We Meet on Vacation and I didn’t like that one unfortunately. But it was full of tropes and other stuff that is not my cup of tea, so it really wasn’t a good fit for me. Others may enjoy it though!

In we're only on the boat for like a couple of pages. And I would totally say that cover is blue. It's supposed to be the ocean at least😂

11. I love how the myths surrounding Loki are casually mixed into this book. I'm a fan of Norse mythology, though I don't know a ton about it. Do you know or enjoy Norse mythology? Do you like how the author is incorporating it into her book?
Love it. As a Norwegian I kinda have to, don't I? I recognize the stories when Loki comes back to Angrboda, and I love that for me.

12. "Was I wrong to not tell them the world may not accept the the way they are?"

This is Angrboda's question after not only Loki's other wife, but Loki himself, refers to their children as monsters. How would you answer her question? Was she right to try and protect and hide them from the Nine Worlds? Should she have gone about it in a different manner?
I think Angrboda never wanted or expected her children to be "exposed" to other people. That way she didn't have to talk about this to them. After she had her dream where she saw where they ended up, they were much bigger and therefore older than currently, so maybe she was waiting until the right time.

13. What an ending to Part One! Did you see what was to come? Did you already know the myths before or were you completely surprised? If you already knew the myth, did you like the author's interpretation of events? Were you as angry at the world as I was reading all that happened to Angrboda and her children, cause I was ready to fight!
I know the myths and also knew from her dream what would happen. Still super hate it though... Poor kids. The authors has done a great job of making me like this family.

14. It seems that Angrboda's dreams can now transport her into other's thoughts. Do you think this is a one-off event because of how much stress she was under? If not, how do you think she'll use this skill from now on?
I don't think it's a one-off. But it's not something I know already. She'll probably used it when her children are in question.

15. So Angrboda has a new voice in her head. Who do you think the voice belongs to? Do you think it's connected to Angrboda's seeming inability to die? Do you think it's a friend or a foe?
I though maybe it was Odin, but when I think about it it doesn't seem likely after all.

DQs Day 2 — "He stayed with her as the days ..." to "... given her daughter a new obsession" - 40%

6. After Angrboda performs seid for the first time again, she starts having dreams where she hears someone calling to and beckoning her. Angrboda doesn't believe it to be Odin at first, but her suspicion changes over time. Who do you think it could be?
Probably Odin I think.

7. Skadi reappears in this section, having left her husband behind. Do you think he'll come back into the story later? Why do you think she chose a husband as recompense in the first place?
I have no idea. I was quite confused by it. Maybe she wanted to be a goddess? Maybe she just wanted to marry Balder?

8. Hel was born with "dead" legs (or dead flesh on fully functioning legs? I'm honestly a little confused by it) and when she over exerts herself she starts turning blue. Angrboda attributes this to when she tried to save her daughter — but I'm not so sure. Do you have any theories on what the cause could be? Is it as simple as Angrboda believes, or do you think it's something bigger to be revealed later on?
I know who Hel is in north mythology, but I don't think I know the reason for her legs being the way they are. I'm excited to the see this author's view.

9. There have been several mentions of a witch who birthed a race of wolves who chase the sun and moon so far in the story — and now Angrboda has given birth to a wolf. Do you think she is the Old one the stories reference? Or, if not, do you think we will meet that character later on?
I'm a little confused by this because the wolves were said to chase the sun and moon. I know who chases the sun and moon in norse mythology and it's impossible for the wolves to be the same ones. But based on what I know from the mythology I think Angrboda is the witch with the wolves.

10. Angrboda decides not to tell Loki about his and his family's involvement in her vision of the beginning of the end. What do you think of her decision? Do you think she made the right choice in not telling him?
I don't think Loki would have given much thought to it anyway?

DQs Day 1
Beginning to "... a promise she knew that she couldn't keep."

1.) What attracted you to this book? BOM points? That COVER? Because of the Norse Retelling angle to the story? Any expectations you'd like to share?
BOM honestly. Even though I already owned the book. I can't remember why I bought it in the first place. I probably heard it was a norse mythology retelling. I obviously forgot about it and was pleasantly surprised when I started reading it now haha.

2.) What did you think of Angrboda's first meeting with Loki? I mean he brought her heart back in his knapsack basically because he was bored. But he was so charming, I'm not sure I'd care either. Though it didn't hurt I kept picturing him as Tom Hiddleston. LOL
Loki is a charmer isn't he lol. I'm so excited to see more of his side to the stories, and not the overall picture we get of the stories how they originally are.

3.) Thoughts on Skadi? Why do you think she helped Angrboda in the first place? And to such an extent? If Skadi was male, how different do you think that interaction would of been?
Maybe she's just a helper. She's a good friend though, which is nice :)

4.) The quote from Skadi, "Time doesn't matter unless you are keeping track of it." Resonated with me. What do you think of this? Do you agree with the statement?
Interesting quote. I didn't even notice it. I guess times matter less when your immortal or whatever.

5.) Loki's reaction to the pregnancy was, let's go with interesting. What type of father are you expecting him to be? Do you think he will be a functioning part of the child's life?
I don't think so but we'll see. I think I know who the first baby is tho, if I remember my mythology correctly.

I have a book that mentions a volcano, but it's pretty long and it will probably take ages to finish. But at least we have it as a backup in case we can't find another book :)

Omg Fiji😍 I’ve told my boyfriend that our honeymoon in the distant future will be at Fiji, hehe. He didn’t object😂 I still have over a week left of work before I get off for summer. I can’t wait🤩 I also think that we’re getting a second round of Covid in our house👎🏻 We haven’t tested positive yet, but I can feel it brewing🥲

I had a feeling the book would be like that which is why I haven’t started it yet… but I better start soon if I’m going to finish it before the 16th (?) 😂

I just checked and my latest read is from an unfinished series :D It doesn't say on Goodreads, but I found more information on the author's web page 😂

Oh okay. I’ll just keep adding tasks whenever there are new monsters then!

My last two books had maps in them so I added the tasks. I don't know if they've been added to the spreadsheet yet though :)

Honestly barely ever watch tv shows or movies anymore so I dont have any current obsessions😭

The past week has been crazy with deadlines at work, different activities and my birthday. Will also be offline this weekend while visiting my family, but hopefully everything will calm down over the weekend.

Will try to participate in the maze, but everything seems to be going so super quick that we'll see if I can squeeze a book. But I am reading and will update the spreadsheet when I get back home to my beloved computer :)
