Stuff got busy at work so I was unable to start my book. (Also rethought taking phone near water and fish) Tomorrow is more than soon enough. It is all yours.

I can get sheep again. My library has as a 4 hr audio so I can do that today while caring for my fish (and actual sheep). Also, storing this book here in case we get it again: Animal Camp: Lessons in Love and Hope from Rescued Farm Animals

Polyphemus (Cyclops)



Polyphemus has been seen on your lands, searching for a new optometrist. Maybe he can be pacified with a good recommendation for an in-network doctor. Very hard to kill but can be distracted with sheep. He loves his sheep. Also, might distract him by discussing what a complete dink Ulysses really is despite his fame.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 500 and 650 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book that takes place on an island.
3.) Read a book where a character engages in some sort of trickery (your interpretation).
4.) Read a book with sheep AND people on the cover.
5.) Read a book whose MC is a farmer.

In update for what we need:

2 books with 5.) Read a book that is #9 or higher in a series.

1 book with:
3.) Read a book with gold text on the cover.
4.) Read a book where the MC has a sister.

If you have one that cover all three that is great or can be 1 book each. Also, if someone has a book with a sister already, I may have missed it. Also, I am not using a book with over 500 pages just for sister.

We were able to clear the Lamia with banked books but we got another hydra

Lernaean Hydra



Lernaean Hydra has entered your lands and destroying villages as it looks for a new home. If you manage to defeat this monster be prepared to answer "how are you still alive" every time you tell the story. The monster is interested in shiny things and is unconcerned about losing their head(s). Best be quick.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book 800 pages or longer.
2.) Read a book with MPG Adventure.
3.) Read a book with gold text on the cover.
4.) Read a book where the MC has a sister.
5.) Read a book that is #9 or higher in a series.

I highly expect that Alysa knows that for what it is worth. Also, not the case for this tag on being higher on the list.

Alysa, it needs to be low enough in reviews that it shows up on the first page. I have found it on ones under 10,000-20,000 reviews only, such as The Other End of the Leash: Why We Do What We Do Around Dogs or On Ugliness but it might be time to use a HELP or SKIP. These are on page 16.

Truitt, the best part of the book is the sheep. I am just sad that the second half has had so much marriage drama and much less sheep drama

New place is safe, mostly comfortable and dry with running water, so we are happy.

I'm starting A Master of Djinn after the sheep and mirror one, so it will work for Africa but we are sure to get another Lion if other people want to read an Africa book. (This is true for most of the monsters except for the ones that rotated out).

I’ll get it. Have a new place so should be able to read mirror and finish sheep book tonight.

I have a tiny mirror book that I would love to read as I can only take so much of my Hardy book at a time - A Mirror Mended but is very short. Otherwise, I have tons for Africa.

Updated what I could. Power not holding here so had to shutdown computer. Looks fine to me as night but I’m on a phone so maybe wait for Judith.

The Lamia has been spotted on your lands and the disappearances of children are on the rise. Requires some planning and moderate effort to defeat, look to the stars for the answers and to the shadows for the monster.


To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 200 and 299 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book with the night sky on the cover.
3.) Read a book where someone is kidnapped.
4.) Read a book that features a prophecy.
5.) Read a book where a child (under age 18) is an important part of the plot.

Internet is struggling but we need a night sky cover and I think the rest is covered by banked books.

Empusa



Empusa aka the Karen of ancient Greece (view spoiler)[sorry Mod Karen (hide spoiler)] has been spotted on your lands causing havoc like a one monster homeowners association from hell. Easy to defeat with the right mindset, try telling her you ARE the manager.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 100 and 125 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book that takes place in the suburbs.
3.) Read a book with a character who is a bully (your interpretation).
4.) Read a book with sandals on the cover (flip-flops/thongs accepted).
5.) Read a book where the MC owns a cow or dog.

If people are looking for suggestions to help with monsters but don't want to read a sheep book or something very specific, we could use some books in the 500-650 range to bank and then we can move a bit faster on using more of our banked book. (I thought I had one while our internet was out, but it was only 480, which is sad).
