I think I may have a book that cover all five harpy tasks. Of Dragons, Feasts and Murders - only one unsure is chase and that is pretty common in a murder mystery

Truitt, do you want to go for Zesus or Lightning? I can look for the other one.

I would also like to say that great job everyone on BOM points. We are the top team right now for BOM points and that is really helping us out in overall rankings (currently 4th but close to 3rd).

DQs Day 2 — "He stayed with her as the days ..." to "... given her daughter a new obsession" - 40%

6. After Angrboda performs seid for the first time again, she starts having dreams where she hears someone calling to and beckoning her. Angrboda doesn't believe it to be Odin at first, but her suspicion changes over time. Who do you think it could be?
This is a reread for me but I guessed Odin the first time as no other character except for Freja had been introduced as knowing seid.

7. Skadi reappears in this section, having left her husband behind. Do you think he'll come back into the story later? Why do you think she chose a husband as recompense in the first place?
It fits the original Norse stories with the feet. I have read this book before for guessing but I guess she took what she could get, knowing that her father was at fault as well so there was blame on both sides.

8. Hel was born with "dead" legs (or dead flesh on fully functioning legs? I'm honestly a little confused by it) and when she over exerts herself she starts turning blue. Angrboda attributes this to when she tried to save her daughter — but I'm not so sure. Do you have any theories on what the cause could be? Is it as simple as Angrboda believes, or do you think it's something bigger to be revealed later on?
It is because she died in the womb. That has always been Hel’s story that she is half dead and half alive. Some make it left and right half but here is legs, which makes more sense anatomically.

9. There have been several mentions of a witch who birthed a race of wolves who chase the sun and moon so far in the story — and now Angrboda has given birth to a wolf. Do you think she is the Old one the stories reference? Or, if not, do you think we will meet that character later on?
Yes, it is heavily implied that it is her.

10. Angrboda decides not to tell Loki about his and his family's involvement in her vision of the beginning of the end. What do you think of her decision? Do you think she made the right choice in not telling him?
He is very dismissive of her and keeps his life very separate. I am not surprised that she did not tell, and Loki said he did not want to know the future as it was too heavy of a burden. I think it was the right choice given the situation.

The infamous Gorgon sister, Medusa has been spotted on your lands. Hard to kill and is looking for recommendations for a new hair stylist. Hers never seem to last long.

To vanquish this monster you must:

2.) Read a book that takes place in a desert.
3.) Read a book where someone is beheaded.
4.) Read a book with a mirror on the cover.
5.) Read a book with a snake on the cover.

We seem to have a snake problem. We have another Python to defeat.

I agree with Judith. It will be at least tomorrow until I finish either of my two books and we could use the longer books.

Charbydis has been spotted close to your shores and endangering ships heading for the harbor. If you manage to defeat this monster be prepared to answer "how are you still alive" every time you tell the story. The monster is interested in helping you reach your childhood dream of finding what's in Davy Jones's Locker.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book 800 pages or longer.
2.) Author's name (first or last) starts with one of the letters in POOL.
3.) Read a book where the MC is forced to make a hard choice (your interpretation).
4.) Read a book with "fig" in the title or text.
5.) Read a book where the characters take a boat trip (of any type).

I'm trying for some bigger books next as we are trending towards some smaller ones and creeping up on the book cap again

I have , which might work for all three.

It is a 3.4, the feathers are on fire and people are getting poisoned by a new drug that is killing people. Does that work?

DQs Day 1
Beginning to "... a promise she knew that she couldn't keep."

1.) What attracted you to this book? BOM points? That COVER? Because of the Norse Retelling angle to the story? Any expectations you'd like to share?
I read it the first time and gave it five stars for the Norse retelling and not being entirely happy with the more non-gender conforming aspects often being removed, such as the entire mare event which is in this section. I am a little worried for BOM since I tend to like books less after discussing them.

2.) What did you think of Angrboda's first meeting with Loki? I mean he brought her heart back in his knapsack basically because he was bored. But he was so charming, I'm not sure I'd care either. Though it didn't hurt I kept picturing him as Tom Hiddleston. LOL
As mentioned above, I don’t really like the Marvel Loki but like him as somewhat childlike himself and very much a trickster. Both good and bad.


3.) Thoughts on Skadi? Why do you think she helped Angrboda in the first place? And to such an extent? If Skadi was male, how different do you think that interaction would of been?
I’ve read further but expected their relationship to develop the way it did. Skadi I think just had pity and has wanted to help. I think on being male that Skadi would not have helped if Angrboda was male.


4.) The quote from Skadi, "Time doesn't matter unless you are keeping track of it." Resonated with me. What do you think of this? Do you agree with the statement?
Yes, because otherwise animals, crops, and seasons are not really the same thing as time.

5.) Loki's reaction to the pregnancy was, let's go with interesting. What type of father are you expecting him to be? Do you think he will be a functioning part of the child's life?
I think he is not much more than a child himself at times that I see him loving but not functioning at the greatest level. I have read before so not adding anymore.
