3113 No you didn't sound accusatory (had to copy that from your post) I just don't know how to respond to the subject matter. I would be lying if I said I didn't hold pre conceived notions of people, for instance If you are wearing pants that are halfway to your knees I am going to assume you're an ass until you prove to me otherwise. It doesn't matter what ethnicity you are, it is the cultural notch you put your self in. From my experience the pants at the knees crowd it bad news???

I guess what I am trying to say is I see where people place themselves and then judge them... Emo, punk, gangster, Yuppie, yuppie scum. Does that make sense? I don’t know if that is any better or not but…

3113 Catamorandi... is that your real name, I don't think I have ever seen that before. Welcome, pull up a beach towel. Make sure you don't get any Charissa in your bikini; it tends to itch a bit ;)

3113 :: Lifts chin slightly::

I have no opinion on such things Charly.
Red black blue green yellow brown purple orange grey are the only colors I can comment on. What is this brown orange you speak of?

Jun 25, 2008 05:33AM

3113 I suppose that’s true. I guess I just figured because it never occurred to me that it wasn't really an issue here. Nothing has ever happened that made me ask is he/she Asian black Mexican or anything. True you can tell sometimes when English is someone’s second language but I don't think that takes the value out of their opinion.

I have no idea where I am going with this so I am going to stop now.

3113 WTF is up with Portland. Last night I was talking to my wife and she is going to Portland for work in September… some Pacific Northwest book convention or something. Didn’t even ask if I wanted to go.

3113 Red black blue green yellow brown purple orange grey… these are the only colors to men, NB. I have no idea what Burnt Sienna is, and neither should you. Repent!

As a man there is no “Swan wing white”, no “Sandal wood”, no “shaded porch”, no “sea foam”. I mean shit man until a few years ago we communicated in a series of grunts and now you’re talking burnt Sienna. Shameful!

3113 I think one can be passionate about killing every bug they ever encounter and never have an impact on the bugs. Millions, billions of them are breeding every day, spawning billions more. If it is my house it dies. The ecosystem will continue on as always. Bugs are resilient little buggers. They live threw comet impacts volcanic eruptions and everything else, they will survive the death den of nicks house too.

I can see having a soft spot of animals (mammals) because most mammals display personality. They may not build cars or rocket ships but they have personality and an awareness of their surroundings. They experience hunger, pain, fear, excitement… emotions. Bugs lead a chemical existence. They operate on the most basic form of existence. They react to chemical changes in their environment. They do not think about it they just react based on programmed genetic responses. So squash, stomp, spray away. Nothing is being lost there.

3113 You know until this thread I had not even thought about race, in relation to goodreads. I have just assumed that everyone here was about books and thinking. Does it matter what groups people visit? I have not noticed any segregation here, of course I have not really been looking for it either. I think this is a great community because of the dynamics involved. All walks of life and readers coming together and talking things threw.

Why does everything always have to come back to race? For all the talk of equality and tolerance it seems that people tend to keep race an issue instead of letting it go. It is only an issue if we keep it alive. Kinda like the Israel discussion, until you are willing to let the past go, you will not be able to move forward.

3113 NB I read that article on Fissures with AQ, Pretty good stuff. Opens up a whole new wedge to use in breaking the cycle, I think.

3113 I hope you never encounter it. Dreadful stuff.

3113 Maybe I will just soak the lot in diesel fuel for a day or two then burn it. Labrador tea's root structure is pretty deep and extensive. It feels like you are walking on a sponge in my yard right now. When I was home I tried to dig one out, after about 3 inches of soil it is nothing but roots.
Jun 24, 2008 09:32PM

3113 Damn, I was hoping the peat would neutralize it. We don't have anywhere to get good top soil up her. Hmm... Burn hippies and lime. How much lime do you think it would take? Will I need a dump truck?
Jun 24, 2008 09:16PM

3113 I think I am just going to scorch the yard when I go home. I can invite some local hippies over to dance naked around my yard blessing it as it burns, before the fire burns out I'll just shove them in. two problems one solution.

I think that is the only way. The stuff is not moving into my yard it has already taken it over. But I will try the lime when I am tilling the peat into the soil.

3113 They are trying to brush the Charissa out of their bikinis. Have you ever had sand in an unwanted spot? Sand is fun on the beach not so much when it is hanging out in taint town.
Jun 24, 2008 08:58PM

3113 How about Labrador tea? Do you have a cure for that? It is this vine like weed that has little bunches of white flowers almost like a berry bush before it goes to seed.
Jun 24, 2008 08:56PM

3113 Yeah the camp is slowly transforming into some kind of colony for the ill. Bastard. We do have a nick name for patient zero.... ready Bobby bubonic. You know as in the Bubonic plague. His name is bobby. Soon to be dead bobby, feet dangling just a few short centimeters off the ground. Cooling snot solidifying on his cold dead upper lip. Maybe occasionally dripping down to splat on the pad. Just a constant reminder to all present what happens to patient zero around here. drip...drip...drip...drip...

3113 Well, I know where one could acquire some agent orange, if one were so inclined. You don't want children do you?
Jun 24, 2008 05:28PM

3113 did I miss the "i" Eh whatever... lazy is as lazy does.
Jun 24, 2008 05:22PM

3113 well if you call 206 lb. full sized I guess.

Donna have you thought about adding a goat to your farm? that would make short order of the weeds.
