I'm so happy to hear it, Lisa Jo! I love discovering new authors, and sharing that discovery with you all has been such fun! I'll be finishing up tonight or tomorrow and can't wait to chat about the whodunnit!
Diana N wrote: "I'm a couple chapters in and I'm not sure I like the hero. There's something about him I find unappealing; I'm hoping that this changes the further I get into the story."I don't remember disliking him, but as you go on, he really becomes someone to cheer for!
I also love the unconventional heroines, Lisa Jo! The same old HR gets old after awhile. And I love that Charles loves that she's out of the norm! This is book 3, Lisa Jo. Maybe his brothers are books 1 and 2?
Diana, I've read that the author did a great job of giving us the backstory, so it's not a problem to read out of order, which I am, too.
I'm really enjoying this story so far. The author goes into quite a bit of detail regarding heirs and their responsibilities, but also how stringent and rigid their upbringing can be.Most often the historical romance stories I read start with the heir already a rake, rogue or libertine with a trail of broken hearts and maidenheads in his wake, with little little else along the lines of back-story and world building. Honestly, I LOVE getting a glimpse of Charles' life, from infancy to adulthood!
We'll be reading and discussing the story, likes and dislikes, reactions to characters and situations. I messaged the author and invited her to follow along and suggest any talking points or answer questions, if she felt so inclined :)It's like a offline book club meeting, just online.
Awesome, Grace! I hope you can find one. I know it's $5.69 @ amazon right now for the Kindle format.
