29443 Who are fictional characters or celebrities that you used to have a mad crush on but you're pretty much over them?

What changed and made you fall out of love/lust/like with them?

29443 I love the GhostWalkers books to an obsessive degree!

29443 This is still my favorite kind of dangerous hero (except for an assassin type). Has anyone read any good ones lately that aren't erotica/BDSM? I'm always looking for recommendations!

29443 I was curious about Jane. If it was too different from the original work.

29443 I love Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and The Long Hot Summer. Paul Newman is probably my favorite classic movie actor.

29443 The Prakenskiis were raised in a government school and all trained to be assassins. The first book about them is Turbulent Sea (Drake Sisters, #6) by Christine Feehan , but they continue in a new series Water Bound (Sisters of the Heart, #1) by Christine Feehan Spirit Bound (Sisters of the Heart, #2) by Christine Feehan Air Bound (Sisters of the Heart, #3) by Christine Feehan

You might enjoy the Sea Haven and GhostWalker books by Feehan. Lots of action, brooding, tortured kickbutt sexy heroes and tough heroines. I just finished

Air Bound (Sisters of the Heart, #3) by Christine Feehan , and it's almost exactly what you described. It renews my love of romance and its potential.

29443 I just finished Air Bound (Sisters of the Heart, #3) by Christine Feehan and it was fantastic. I want to reread all the Prakenskii brother books. Crazy in love with these guys, and I also really love the sisters in both series.

29443 I confess to a love of pirate romances. I won't list the really bodice rippery ones unless you want. Here are some good ones that aren't too old school.

Jennifer Ashley has a fun pirate trilogy The Pirate Next Door (Regency Pirates, # 1) by Jennifer Ashley The Pirate Hunter (Regency Pirates, #2) by Jennifer Ashley The Care & Feeding of Pirates (Regency Pirates, # 3) by Jennifer Ashley

Might be hard to find but I love this Laura Renken series:

My Lord Pirate by Laura Renken Night Shadow by Laura Renken Heart of the Condor by Laura Renken

Tell Me Lies by Claudia Dain is a bit bodice rippery, but not too bad.

29443 Kathryn Smith has a very good historical vampire romance series called The Brotherhood of Blood. Nicely Gothic.

Be Mine Tonight (Brotherhood of Blood, #1) by Kathryn Smith Night of the Huntress (Brotherhood of Blood, #2) by Kathryn Smith Taken by the Night (Brotherhood of Blood, #3) by Kathryn Smith Let the Night Begin (Brotherhood of Blood, #4) by Kathryn Smith Night After Night (Brotherhood of Blood, #5) by Kathryn Smith

I was going to name that series as well. Good suggestion.

The Winter Soldier was awesome! One of the best action movies I've seen in a long time.

29443 Definitely avoid bodice rippers in that case, Melody. I think that HR started to change for the better in that sense in the late 80s. Although I do feel like they went the other way towards blandness. However, there are some good authors who are revitalizing the genre, so I'm happy.
