27776 So, Brittney... it's ok if you cheat off google then? *raises eyebrows*

You know we're just messing with you, right?
Feb 27, 2010 11:11AM

27776 I know, I could go on and on about her dad, right?

I thought Auden DID tell Maggie...

27776 Yeah... that logging out on the laptop thing can be bad... there are M blockers that go to goodreads to look for reviews...

If they go and you're still logged into your account it could be bad for you.

27776 and i think she got away with it...
Feb 25, 2010 04:28PM

27776 Hmmm... you'd better change that sentence a LITTLE bit and make it your own... otherwise your teacher may think you were cheating. : )
Feb 24, 2010 06:04PM

27776 Well, get off here and off facebook and go read! (That's where I'm going now... although, it's reading lesson plans and such... no AR points for that.)

27776 Hmmmm.... I know I could, but I think that would be cheating.

I used it in at least four different sentences during class today.

Remember, it comes from the word empire.

You could also use various forms (but not empire...) like imperialistic.

27776 Yeah. We can talk about whatever we want in here... (unless we're at school, in which case this part is off limits I think...)

But conversations on these threads are sometimes slow because not everyone is on at the same time. You can post some deep questions about books though, and it gives people time to ponder the answers.

(I'm waiting for Jimmy to come on and give some deep questions from HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy)

27776 I started The Once and Future King, and have it here in this very room, but I couldn't get into it. It's been on my to-read list for a long time. Maybe I'll get back into it and give it another shot sometime.

27776 there are a LOT of werewolf/vampire books out there that predate Twilight... Twilight's kindof commandeered the theme.
Feb 24, 2010 04:13PM

27776 Yep... you'll get it as you go along. Although, they also use the phrase in there too, so I'm betting it's a play on words.

27776 Oooo... I like these questions. : )

27776 I don't know... maybe you should join us more often.
Feb 22, 2010 06:00PM

27776 I can't believe nobody's mentioned The Hunger Games
Feb 22, 2010 05:50AM

27776 WOAH! AMANDA MAKIN' SOME NOISE ON THE TEAM READING THREADS!
Feb 21, 2010 02:00PM

27776 Feel free to add more discussion questions. I know there are a lot of you out there that read the book.

Here are a couple:

What did you think was in the coffin?

Were you at all worried that her little sister would give it all away and get them killed?

Have you ever had to do anything really important like running the basket to the boat? What was it? If not, do you think you could have done it?

Who do you relate to most in the book? Who is the most like you? The least?

What is the hardest part about not knowing something? Annemarie didn't know what was in the basket, she didn't know what was in the coffin, often times she didn't know what was going on at all. Sometimes it's best when we don't have all the information, but what makes that hard?

Feel free to answer any of these questions at any time. : )

Also, you could add other ones.
