being a hobo, like gordon, i'm often on buses around town, and quite often, mask wearers (me, obvs) are in the minority despite the guidelines. junkies are obviously exempt, as it gets in the way of self-medicating, and those with (genuine? aye right!) exemption cards wear them on a lanyard like a badge of honour (and of course loudly tell the rest of the bus why they're exempt). most people don't know how to wear a mask/covering properly - the worn on the chin style (i call it the 'jacques loussier') - the nose exposed, the mouth exposed (that takes some doing, but is a thing), and the champions of all being those who take their seat before masking. oh, ye got me rantin' now, jim!

i was amusing myself, tbh, but it's worth pointing out that kraftwerk 'year zeroed' those 4 records, mainly because they were impure to their vision. i have heard most of them, and much as i adore kraftwerk, have no urge to own them.
but you're right, there's no point in comparing kraftwerk with anyone, no-one else in that field can compete with that level of conviction and vision.

yeah, great concept, cleverly undertaken. mostly from reggae's early years at a time when the albums were mixed (or remixed for uk purposes) or recorded in london - a quick photo of the jamaican artist in a london setting - one has to ask why.

yeah, jim-jams and slippers! who needs 'em? ain't owned either since i was about 10, and i'm also a barefoot kinda guy. i'll upweird by also disclosing that i varnish/paint the big toenail on my left foot - a few years ago i lost the nail, and it grew back with displeasing results, so mrs tech advised decoration - now the toenail is fine and dandy, i just upkeep the practice as a representation of my individuality, and the fact that it just looks darling, darling!

powerful stuff, full of great songs rather than being a fluent 'album'. after the initial disappointment that the record wasn't all in the theme of the mindblowing 'Deutschland', the band's skill at blending power with irresistible hooks illuminates the remainder.

and, speaking of russia,

sent for a copy of this from the russian federation. i was looking for a copy of lindemann's 'skills in pills' for mrs tech, when i came across this on discogs - it contains the entire recorded output of lindemann - b-sides, mixes, etc. that'll keep me in the good books, i imagine. interesting to see how long it takes to arrive (shipped on 7th).
