I think people are reading too much into it. To me it was saying, "Some people may think that there was something going on with Bran/Mercy but there really wasn't. Bran 'would never have moved on Mercy.'"
And even if there had been something there, how hypocritical people are to think of Bran as a pedophile but be perfectly okay with Hawke and Sienna.

For those of you that follow the Hellequin Chronicles, Steve McHugh has a new series and the first book is part of Kindle First this month.

Vanessa wrote: "I abandoned Veiled Veiled by Karina Halle. I'm somewhere near the half way point and it isn't thrilling me, it's too YA or something, and it is written in first person. That doesn't always bother me, but I feel like I'm reading a more juvenile read than I want to. "I just checked Veiled. It's not only first person, which I don't mind, it's present tense. That's the part that makes it feel juvenile to me.

Someone mentioned that the latest Miss Fortune book (
Change of Fortune) was out so I hurried over to Amazon and one-clicked. I can't believe it's been out since December and I didn't know! I put aside
Eternity to read Change of Fortune.
I had started another Jana DeLeon book,
Malevolent, but it was a little too dark for me at the time. I'll get back to it. I have a 12 hour drive to a retreat in March (and 12 hours home) so I need to have a few books lined up to listen to in the car.
Douglas wrote: "@Holly - you might need to go to Manage Your Content and Devices and download it again, mine is complete"That did it.

I read the "look inside" and then downloaded the book. In the book, chapter 3 is missing! I was half way through it in the "look inside" when the sample ended.

The characters are like old friends. "I recently read the latest In Death book too. I thought it was better than the last couple of books have been. You're right, the characters are like old friends. I have pictures of them in my head and think of the stories like a TV series. Kind of a cross between NCIS and CSI.

They completed the order and then refused it. ps I bought what I needed to make it work, I don't know if it was because I used a hand built one or not but it was extremely hard to use. I wish I could have got the amazon version.
Has anyone used it and what did you think of it? "I use the Paperwhite with the VoiceView adapter all the time in the car. It's not quite as flexible as the old TTS functionality on the Kindle Keyboard but I've gotten used to it. Plug it in to start, unplug it to stop. It always starts at the top of the page which is unfortunate. Another thing I had to get used to was the chime as it turns the page. Actually I use that chime to unplug if I'm getting close to parking the car.
I like the VoiceView voice better than the old TTS voice.

Also, the Kindle, the one without the light, has audio.

holly does audio mean text to speech or just audio books? "I'm pretty sure it means both. You could ask the question on the Oasis page.

The Oasis has audio. The newer Paperwhite and the Voyage can do text-to-speech, called Voice View, with an adapter and your own speakers or headphones. The adapter is designed for the vision impaired. The good thing about that is that it will read ALL books even if they are not TTS enabled.

Vanessa - I gave up on the Fever series with the first Dani book. I hated the present tense Dani speak.

I've been way behind on my reading but I'm starting to get caught up.
I finished
Dark in Death last night. This morning I read
When Birdie Babysat Spider: A Jayne Frost Short and started
Miss Frost Braves The Blizzard: A Nocturne Falls Mystery.
I've got a long backlog but I too purchased
Becoming A Vincent.

Of course I normally work from home and don't mingle with a lot of people. I'm not sure who I actually contracted it from but it has been going around the office. The really sad thing was that my husband had to cancel his annual golf trip to St. Kitts.

Good Morning!
I've been MIA for the last week because both my husband and I caught the flu while we were in CA the end of January. We got sick on a Friday night and somehow managed to drive home on Saturday. We probably should not have been driving. We went to the doctor last Monday but it was too late for Tamiflu so we've just been toughing it out. I'm still kinda stuffy and weak but the worst of it is over.
Not much on the reading front but I did start
Dark in Death.

Good Morning!
4 days, 9 hours, 16 minutes until I'm retired!
