Good Morning!
I haven't posted here for awhile but I have been keeping up with the threads. I haven't been reading much either. I've been spending my spare time quilting. When my sewing loft is also my office it's really easy to move over to the machine and do a little piecing.

The series ended in 2015 and it must have done well since she milked it for 6 books (only 4 brothers) and the big "thing" that was revealed in book 2 is not resolved until book 5 (which I assume was to be the last book but they tried to milk it one more time). Then spun off another 5 books in a series called "SEALs of Chance Creek" which makes my head hurt when you consider this is a really small place to have all these SEALs running around loose :)
."I think I've read everything Cora Seton has written about Chance Creek. I believe there are actually 4 series but they all happen in Chance Creek. The Cowboys of Chance Creek, The Heroes of Chance Creek, The Brides of Chance Creek, and SEALs of Chance Creek. The plots are all similar but you know it's all going to work out in the end.

Kissing Tolstoy "That sounds good so I one-clicked and added it to my ever increasing TBR list. Looks like I'll have plenty to read when I finally get to retire and I no longer have the disposable income I do now.

Have we heard from Dan's Wife? Does she go by a different name here and I just haven't put it together?

The latest Hellequin book is out.
Scorched Shadows

I got $87.32! I checked my spreadsheet and the total settlement/fine/whatever is $590.28. Maybe I'll buy Wicked Abyss after all.

Hmmm...I haven't read
Wicked Abyss yet either. Haven't even purchased it. I almost one-clicked it just now but decided not to since I've purchased 23 books since August and read 5.

The beaded bracelets are very pretty.

Thanks everyone. We'll go over in an hour or so to make final arrangements. I found this:

We lost one of our pups last night. He had trouble breathing starting the night before. We took him to the vet where they did xrays but it was too late. My heart is breaking.

The VoiceView voice is better than the TTS voice on the old Kindles. The 2nd generation Paperwhite, the Voyage and the Oasis all have VoiceView. For the ones without audio capabilities you have to get an adapter. I imagine you won't need that with the new Oasis.
Another good thing about VoiceView is that it will read any book whether TTS is enabled or not.
The downside to VoiceView is the actual operation of it. TTS on the old Kindles used the space bar to pause/resume and key combinations to start/stop. VoiceView uses two-finger swipes and stuff like that that I can never get right. Basically I start it by plugging in the adapter and stop it by unplugging.
Another little annoyance is that it makes a ding or click when it turns the page. Honestly I don't notice it much anymore.
Kristi (foxtail_too) wrote: "Well, I just did the ultimate one-click: I preordered the new Kindle Oasis. It's waterproof! No more ziplocs in the bathtub!"I looked at the new Oasis. I would consider it for the bigger screen and the audio capabilities if it weren't so much money. I spent too much at a new-to-me quilt store yesterday.

Well the 1-click addiction seems to have followed us over here. I just picked up The Duchess Deal.

The "new" Amazon forums are active.

I'm not sure it's a place we want to go. I'm beginning to feel comfortable here. That's just my 2 cents worth though. I'll follow the group.
