22225 I completed my challenge last month. I am now at 279 of my 256 challenge. All in all, it has been a good reading year.

22225 It looks like a good haul........ I would say that you were fortunate; my wife would say. better you than me. She isn't happy with the books that are overflowing from my library and slowly filling up the rest of our house.

22225 On May 12, I completed my challenge. I now stand at 102% having read 260 of 256 and I'm 165 books ahead. Maybe I will increase next year's challenge.

22225 After years of being warned, scolded, and threatened by my wife to reduce my collection of books, I've finally promised to take action. When our children left the nest, I was awarded one of their bedrooms for a REAL library. Prior to their planned departure, I would hamster my treasures away wherever I could find space. Now, with an entire room (bookshelves from floor to ceiling), I had more than enough room to expand......and expand I did! Free-standing shelves were installed, filling up a majority of the floor space, and I continued to buy, buy, buy books. When the shelves were filled I reverted to my old tactic of hiding them away.
I must admit that my wife does all the cleaning, and is very good at it. Slowly but surely she created space for me to store my extended library and I continued to add to it. Without forethought, I stumble upon a new book. I wouldn't even know I wanted it but upon seeing it, I can't walk away. When asked by my wife if I have read all the books I've saved, I had to admit that I hadn't. With a collection of books that could impress any small town library (not to mention ten thousand + books in Kindle Cloud), I finally struck a deal with the devil and love of my life, agreeing to read and eliminate some books, thus reducing the hoard. It is hard and painful work, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

Cast I not really a fan of this genre but when I found the four of these (all standing side by side) I couldn't resist; I just had to buy them.

22225 Since my library exceeded capacity, I’ve started a régime of giving away selected books after I read them to make (if somewhat slowly) room for more. I’ve also made use of Kindle Cloud and continue to collect unabated. My third action is to add and/or replace pocket books with hard bound volumes. Desperate times require inventive measures.
