Valerie, nice deals! But you're gonna have to do better than that to catch this bibliomaniac. ;-)

I just brought home 15 more used books from the library and got 4 delivered from Bookdepository. That brings me up to 49 for the month, so far. :-)

22225 Shannon, you've got a Borders coupon burning a hole in your pocket, too, huh? I must say I love your logic!

22225 Welcome all new arrivals. You're going to fit in just fine.

On another note, I just noticed we are over 100 members now! When I started this group, I never expected it to take off like it did. So nice to know you're not alone, isn't it? :-)

22225 Okay, I was going to let someone else pick the next theme, but since no one has, I'll get things rolling again.

Here's the twist this time. You can use any title you want, but as well as beginning with the letter you are at, the title must also include somewhere in it the letter that comes next in order.

For example, if you have A as your letter, your title must also have a B somewhere in it after the A.
So you can use:
The ABominable Snowman Doesn't Roast Marshmallows
or
Adam Bede
or
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

The next person has B and must also have a C somewhere in their title after the B. After that, the next person has C and must have D somewhere in the title after the C. To finish when we get to Z, that title must have A somewhere after the Z. Got the idea? Have at it. :-)

Looloo, I'm here to make you feel better, again. I went to work this afternoon and came home this evening with 29 various works of used juvenile fiction we withdrew from the library's collection. And to think, I actually thought I might bring home very few books this month. Yeah, right. Sheesh. A leopard definately cannot change its spots, huh? :-)

22225 Ooooooh, Looloo, you're going to like Rosemary and Rue. One of my favorite debut works. I can't wait to read the next in the series.

22225 Got my first purchase of January yesterday. Found an interesting read used at the library: Free Speech for Me--But Not for Thee: How the American Left and Right Relentlessly Censor Each Other by Nat Hentoff

Definately. I haven't paid cover price for a book in at least a year. There's just no need with the coupons Borders gives out weekly and the great discount prices at Amazon and BookDepository.

22225 Here's a Y. Let's get a Z so we can get to a new subject. This seems to have been a tough one.

Kathryn, you really don't have to do either one. Just do what parents have been telling kids to do for decades, just put on a sweater! ;-)

Cool Valorie. But since it's a January purchase, add it in here http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/2... Ok? :-)

22225 Looloo, it is a bit strange. Bone Magic is still %50 off but most of the other UF I fortunately did already order have really shot up in cost.
Jan 02, 2010 12:59PM

22225 Looloo, yeah, I noticed some like that. But I also have seen others where the prices have dropped way down or just stayed the same. I don't think it is anything different than usual.

Looloo, me too! Great minds think alike, huh?

22225 I just wanted to share this really neat reading challenge I discovered in another discussion group, The Next Best Book Club, http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1....

Check out Diane's Around the World in 80 Books challenge at http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_... The challenge is to basically read by Sept. 15, 2010, 80 different books that take place at least partially in 80 different countries. If you still want to join, you can backtrack and count books you have read since the challenge started on Sept. 15, 2009.

You can see where I've been at http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/2...

Rene, you are going to love The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane. One of my favorite works of Historical Fiction.
