Erica wrote: "My last shipment of CS books came in an Amazon box (last week)."Interesting. I received a box of proofs yesterday, and they came from CS.
Why, if you have your book already published on CS, would you move it to KDP? In my case, the paperback and Kindle files are NOT identical. The Kindle editions have hotlinked footnotes and endnotes, something (of course!) the paperback editions do not. This makes a huge difference in the formatting. In any event, why fix something that isn't broken by moving a CS paperback to KDP?What am I missing?
Carole wrote: "Do it yourself. lol. If you use their services they lock it up- Their editing and such."That's what I thought LOL I was beginning to think someone had a new publishing service out there.
I have my own editors, do my own formatting, covers, etc., etc. I've never had a problem with CreateSpace (save that one time when I was submitting one of my children's books that had a RED component in the BLUE cover I was using (I submitted the cover in RGB, and their printing process kept turning out all kinds of different shades of purple from print job to print job)).
As far as eBooks are concerned, I only publish in Kindle these days. Simply too much of a kabuki dance to fiddle and fool around with other distributors, given my experience with meager sales a few years ago.

I recently did a reading at my local library and I don't ..."I know it can be a problem. It's somewhat easier with my Flash Fiction books because I've simply been posting entire stories. One out of 73 isn't going to compromise the volume.
Carole wrote: "We are turning all our Createspace books into DYI- Many of the earlier ones have to be unlocked by CS to make changes. I am changing them to DYI- because I think after April 1 they won't offer that..."What is DYI? Also, I don't understand by having to "unlock" CS.
Sorry for my ignorance.

I know there have been a number of discussions over time regarding the pros and cons of using CreateSpace. For my part, I've been happy with the services they provide and especially like the expedited printing of proofs that often result in their getting to me within days of my submitting a manuscript. Given signs Amazon may be moving the paperback side of the house to KDP, and because I do like CreateSpace, I've taken steps (I hope) to lock in my next several paperback books with the latter by opening New Book files on these books and taking out free CS ISBNs for these books on the CS Website. In all, I have four books in this "category" and hope, at the least, it will grandfather me into CS should Amazon make any global changes to its publishing operations.
My story this week on Indies Unlimited was inspired by the Great Lakes Storm of November, 1913 (how fitting, given what we're getting on the East Coast right now). You can vote for me here:https://www.indiesunlimited.com/2018/...

The reason I asked is that I'm going to repost some of my IU flash fiction on Medium and it only occurred to me after I posted the first one that it would be helpful to include the ph..."Understand. Simply cite K. S. Brooks, Indies Unlimited, and the date that particular prompt was use when you post.
Dale wrote: "The split infinitive is a question with a split personality. According to "official rules," one should not split an infinitive, but as I understand it, this is actually a rule imposed upon English ..."I agree...there are times when to avoid it results in English that sounds awful. That is something up with which I will not put.
Dale wrote: "Ted,Just curious: is Kat letting you use the original photo prompts from IU?"
The note on the Website indicates that they can be used with attribution. Here's her statement:
"Photo copyright K. S. Brooks. Do not use without attribution."
I also sent them a note last year that I would be including the stories submitted in my books.

Just a short note to say my second book of flash fiction, Creative Ink, Flashy Fiction: Flash Fiction Anthology - Book 2, was released this morning in both Kindle and paperback editions. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078T29T52
Four additional volumes are in the works for release on April 5th (now on pre-sale), June 5th (will go on pre-sale March 7th), July 5th, and August 5th. If you like flash fiction, I hope you'll find these stories and their photographic prompts your "cup of tea".

Interesting piece from Indies Unlimited:https://www.indiesunlimited.com/2018/...
I found the adjective order most interesting.

Some of it, perhaps, might have to do with genre...perhaps if we wrote bodice-rippers with a ton of sex under fem pen names, it might kick things up a notch. (;>)
