Thanks. I also have to say, the Author Central people are terrific. I contacted them yesterday about merging the audiobook page with the page for the other two editions (Kindle and paperback), and it was accomplished by the time I woke up this morning. In addition, the increased number of LookInside pages I had requested be made available for my flash fiction series (requested yesterday morning) were already being displayed last night. Amazon's support--both by phone and e-mail--is simply unbelievable. And I've had the same good help from the people at Kindle and ACX (audiobooks), regardless of where they are in the world (RSA, USA, Costa Rica, Philippines).

The producer, Greg Pond, also produced the Spanish audiobook, which is now undergoing review by ACX. Jim Selleck is producing the English audiobook for this story as well as the audiobooks for the other two books in my childrens storybook series.

Between February, 2018 and this month, I published six books in this anthology series, and on every one of them, CreateSpace FAILED to set the percentage of pages to be shown on their LookInside feature. I had recently called the KDP people (which had been showing something under 10%) and increased the number to 20% (have had problems with the LookInside feature on the Kindle side before), but I was surprised when I saw barely anything being displayed on the paperback editions.
If you publish with CreateSpace, check what's being shown on the LookInside feature of your paperback editions. If it's not what you want, call CreateSpace and get it changed. Even so, it can take 2-3 weeks after your call for the changes to be see on Amazon.com.

This was all accomplished at NO COST under ACX's royalty-sharing option.
The books now are under review, which should take about 10 days. Once approved (fingers crossed!!!), I will contact Kindle Whispersync to link the audiobooks with the Kindle editions of both, producing an integrated, synchronized presentation of each book. Again, this is all at NO COST.

Booyah! When's the party?

Adapt or die! It think that's the underlying message, Carole.
Good work.

The FF sounds super."
Thanks, Anna!

Thanks, Alex. And yes...that thing about Lewis Carroll and Alice was very uncomfortable to read.

Flash Fiction Stories of the Young

George Bernard Shaw once said: “Youth is wasted on the young.” Hopefully, you didn’t waste yours! Growing up as six-year-old child working in the coal mines of England in the 19th century, for example, precluded anything even close to what today would be considered a “normal childhood,” much less giving you a good chance of living past 30. Your chances of surviving to old age were somewhat better if you were born during the Great Depression, though then, many children often went to bed hungry. Compare their lives to those of children born after World War II. This anthology comprises 73 stories related to childhood selected from the 438 stories found in Books 1 through 6, incl., of the Creative Ink, Flashy Fiction anthologies. The stories, each 250 words or fewer in length, are best compared to a handful of peanuts or M&M’s. Which is to say, they’re tiny, bite-sized morsels that won’t let you stop with one!

Psst…did you recognize the young woman whose photograph appears on the cover? That’s Alice Liddell of “Alice in Wonderland” fame, here dressed as a beggar-maid. The seductive photograph was taken by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, aka Lewis Carroll in 1858. Alice’s parents eventually became suspicious of Lutwidge at one point (he was a photographer and fond of taking pictures on young women). Eventually, they excluded Lutwidge from their and their three daughter’s life. Ted

Who doesn’t like a good animal story?! That’s why we created this special edition for our series on Flash Fiction. The contents of this seventh Flash Fiction anthology are drawn from the 438 stories found in Books 1 through 6, incl., of the Creative Ink, Flashy Fiction anthologies and are devoted entirely to our friends from the Animal Kingdom. Here you’ll find stories about loyal canines, mischievous felines, photobombing birds, and other creatures, large and small, that will make you smile, perhaps shed a tear, but always leave you thinking about this strange and awesome road we call “life.” The stories, each 250 words or fewer in length, are best compared to a handful of peanuts or M&M’s. Which is to say, they’re tiny, bite-sized morsels that won’t let you stop with one!

I'd ask if they have a process for procuring books from local authors. Our local library system does, but even then, they usually purchase only one copy which they share among branches. Someone requested one of my books from the local library (a friend who works there told me), and on the basis of that request, the library system purchased ONE copy which I intuited they shared among all branches.
It's a good thought, but sadly, not one that I'd expect to yield many sales. But...what about the possibility of the library hosting you to talk some Saturday afternoon?

I'd go into the nearest library and inquire. Perhaps they have a process by which authors can submit their books for consideration. Or, perhaps they will accept donations. Just march right in and ask for the head librarian. You have nothing to lose.

What rules do you think he broke, if any??"
I have no idea.
