My 4000+ rankings were on very generic science fiction keywords.

I wish I'd written goblins now, I'd probably be in the top 250!

I think my rise in rankings is just because I picked some relevant ones off the list rather than making it up as I went.

I did have one yesterday and 7 for the bargain booksy 2 the day before that. Wouldn’t it be great if it was a sale for more than 99c per book lol.

My Amazon ads are registering a £5.99 sale of a paperback which I know is one I bought for my daughter. It looks like I’m going to be charged for a click I didn’t make. Don’t know how that works.

OK, that amuses me. I changed my keywords on Amazon yesterday to things on the keyword list that made me go 'well kinda' and 'sort of'. I've halved the numbers. Rather than being ranked somewhere in the 4000+ I am now somewhere in the 2000+ numbers. Short of spending hundreds of pounds and dropping the price to free, I don't see that improving.

I don’t have much money. I’ve spent over £50 since May on promotion. That’s about all I can justify. Kids to feed etc

I have no idea. I did change the keywords around yesterday based on a list I found somewhere on Amazon. But I don’t sell books-it’s been my catchphrase for over a year. I’m good but nobody knows that.

You’ve done well. I’m nowhere in the rankings with mine-yet it’s a good book.

I need to finish reading something before I can review it-I’m such a slow reader. And then I worry my reviews would be rubbish. ‘I enjoyed this book’ I’m just not good at that kind of writing.

I have to admit I always suspect such actions from people which is why I don’t take part in that kind of thing.

They do good cakes. Failing that Asda. I only ever went into Asda for the birthday cakes. I might have had a Minions one for my 40th.

Sainsburys £4.50 serves 8 iced Victoria sponge.

Supermarkets do a plain celebration cake which is Victoria sandwich. I prefer those to chocolate.

Anyway, a profit is apparently a Maxine. I am hundreds of squids away from breaking anything, let alone even. You are doing a maxinely well.

But it's working, Alex. At the rate I'm writing/editing I'll have the next one out sometime never. Although it's (expletive) that people are finding it harder than ever before, I find that comforting because I'm a contrary bugger and it means I'm not doing any worse than other people.
