Looks like my recent promo got me 3 sales at .99 on iBooks. I've just upped the price again I've got £2.49 and $2.99. (shrugs, no idea what I'm doing.)
Oh that. Well if it is that, in my mind that kind of shenanigans falls into the realms of ‘what did you expect?’

I can't offer people advice or say how something should be done. But if each repetitive writing article pulls someone new in to read it, they won't have read what I've written before anyway.
When I was pregnant years ago, I bought pregnancy magazines during a few different months. It was the same stuff over and over again. Different faces and different cravings but the basis of the magazine remained the same throughout my pregnancy. It worked for them! My writing articles are read more than any other type I write. It's a pity I can't think of more of them.
I replied, Ted. I am awaiting moderation. My latest review on zon.com is a 3.5 from Long and Short Reviews. Thank you Carole, I think it was your suggestion that I try them. I had completely forgotten that I had sent them a badly cobbled together request.
I wonder how much of it is genre specific. We all write different things so it can be difficult to compare. For instance, the higher price for the Bargain Booksy promo Dale has just run is because I believe the mailing list is larger than my $35 science fiction one.Oh I don't know. It's a complete mystery to me.

"I've had that conversation with readers who aren't authors. Some of them see books at a low price as not worth trying. What's wrong with the book that it's free? Is it so bad even the author doesn't value their work? Free works if you then back it up with other books with a price tag. Then I've also had the conversation where readers point blank refuse to pay for ebooks and only download them when they are free.
I hope I get to the stage where I manage to sell books at a full price rather than only selling them when I've done a promo for 99c. I've got to shift a lot of books at 99c to make the cost of my cover back (let alone the cost of the promos I've spent money on.)
Very tough. I don’t expect much to be honest. I’m happy to sell a few books and get a few good reviews.
Thanks everyone. Sock is dry. I remembered to put an apron on whilst cooking dinner seeing as I’m a total liability.
Looking at some of the promo places I need 5 reviews. That’s probably doable. I’ve got 4 with an average of 4.5. I’m not busting a gut. If it happens it happens. I’m not desperate to get ahead.
Thanks everyone. I've just got another review. That's four now and really good for something that has only shifted a few copies.
Excellent news. My promos this year have only made a fraction of the money I have spent on them. The book is however only at 99c/99p at the moment.
