201765 I want to add even if you aren't looking for children's books yourself, reacting and commenting on her posts will help boost their visibility to other group members who may be interested. :)

201765 Many of you may know Judy Martialay from this group. She is doing an author takeover today on our Navigating Indieworld Facebook group page. Please take a minute to stop by and show her your support and tell others who may be interested in knowing more about her children's books. She is doing a giveaway too. Here is the link for the group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/navig...

201765 Sam, part of the purpose of this group is to unite readers and authors. If anything, we want MORE readers and reviewers. And your input is just as important as an authors. You may not be able to contribute to this conversation, but there are plenty of conversations that you can contribute to with the unique view as a reader. We LOVE having you here!

201765 I have been very busy trying to figure out some new tax laws that are affecting my online small business. Decided to organize my thoughts and vent a bit with a Medium article. Not a real exciting one, but here it is: https://medium.com/@egraham040/the-su...

201765 This is more of a Dale question, but from what I understand it depends on the publication. Some don't publish under the pay wall so there is no earnings. Some do, but you split the earnings. The benefit to publishing under a publication is you will be reaching all of their followers which will hopefully result in reaching new people you may not be able to on your own. It may or may not result in more earnings, but it would be a good way to expand your reach. I haven't had time to submit any articles yet. I am lucky to get one article a week out right now and if I sent to publications, I would still want to release some articles on my own.

201765 One in preparation for upcoming elections in the USA. I know this may be a little too political (even though I tried to keep it unbiased to political parties) so don't feel bad if you prefer not to clap. I understand. :) https://medium.com/@egraham040/choosi...

201765 I didn't enter that one. Did you get a list of all the winners or did they contact you individually?

201765 This is a great opportunity to promote your books during the holiday season. Kay does an awesome job with this event! I am excited to have bloggers involved this year as well.

201765 Alex, I know you probably are not in a position to do this, but look into Indies United for future possibilities. Especially since Amazon isn't an option for you. You can jump on the Facebook group page today if you have any questions for them.

Another good suggestion, Anita!

201765 Just dropping this mention here. We have Lisa Orban from Indies United on our Facebook page today sharing and answering questions. I know it isn't for everyone, but this is an interesting alternative for people who ARE interested in trying IS and can't afford an ISBN. For $25, you get an Indies United ISBN, free marketing, and you keep all rights to your book. You can also opt out at anytime. If you do leave Indies United, you can't use their ISBN anymore. That plus using free IS specials means you can publish through IS for just $25. Like I said, not for everyone, but this is an interesting option for people who do want to publish through IS. If you are interested in learning more for current or possible future books, here is the link for her feature today: https://m.facebook.com/groups/1760303... and here is their website: www.indiesunited.net

201765 Check out our Facebook group throughout the day. Lisa Orban from Indie United is doing a takeover to share more about Indies United. The are a publishing house but what they do is a little different than most. You pay $25 and they give you an ISBN with the Indies United imprint name (much cheaper than buying 1 ISBN of your own, especially if you don't have the money to purchase a block of ISBNs). You own all rights to your book and can opt out at any time. You then self publish your book just like you normally would, but since you have your own ISBN, you can also use publishing houses that do not supply a free one (like IngramSpark). They will also provide you with free marketing if you publish with them. This may not be for everyone, but this is a good opportunity to learn a little more about what they offer. Lisa will be explaining more about what they offer and answering questions today on our Facebook group page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/17603...

201765 Sam, you can also use the short story tag. I am not great at figuring out tags though. Good story. :)
