This video was just shared with me. It has some tips for Twitter and I thought some people here might like it as well. :)

I agree, Amy. I try not to post more than 3xs a week on my Facebook page. I have found people are more likely to unfollow me if I do. Especially if the posts are all about "me, me, me." I make sure at least 1 post a week is about another author in my genre (since my audience is kids and their parents) or a meme with a tip for reading with your kids or about books. I find I have a lot more freedom to post what I want on Twitter.

Congrats, Elina! Good luck with your MS. I followed you on Twitter as well. :)

Prakash, I have heard a few authors leave KDP for other avenues and they have been much happier. Unfortunately I cannot add much to this topic. I am with KDP, but being a children's picture book author, I don't sell any Kindle books since most people want paperback or hardcover for kids books. Sorry I can't help more and I wish you luck in finding answers or a new platform.

I ran across Carole's interview on Jedlie's Reading with your Kids podcast today! jedlie@jedlie.com
It showed up in my Twitter feed from a random person who had shared Jedlie's post.

Lately I have been seeing familiar names and books from authors in this group. This point of this thread is to give a shout out to authors after you see them in places other than the Navigating Indieworld group, website, social media sites, and magazine. The hope is that this will help authors gauge what avenues are helping us get our books in front of people. :)

Just listened to your podcast with Jedlie, Carole. Great interview! If anyone else is interested in hearing it, here is the link:

Haha! It's a good book! :)

Good deal! Glad they removed it. :)

I play multiple instruments, but clarinet is what I mainly play. Unfortunately with the kids, I don't have as much time to play as I use to and am loosing a lot of my skills. I keep telling myself I need to start playing daily again and haven't.
I do still play my Native American flute and Irish Penny Whistle frequently. My brother and I play our Native American Flutes for Eagle Scout ceremonies. :)

Carole, that is an incredibly inspiring story! Thank you for sharing!

A couple things for me:
1. My high school band was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall when I was 17. One of the most incredible experiences of my life!
2. My husband proposed to me while we were rock climbing.
