201765 Thank you! It means such a lot to have support.

201765 I don't have any names, sorry, Alex. I've just read articles in newspapers or elsewhere and thought it a good idea. As I still don't have paperbacks (they're coming, really they are) I didn't think any more about it.

Try Googling - it's a good idea to get the first of a series into places like that - perhaps!

201765 I've heard about this sort of thing. We have them here in the UK too, Alex. Sometimes they're in defunct red telephone boxes. My local train station has a little library collecting donations for Dogs for the Blind.

How nice to be asked!

201765 I know that feeling - well, that is the feeling of wanting to do something that isn't in the plan.

It would be much more sensible for me to write a sequel, or at least to write in the same genre, as my best-selling book, but no, Head says I have to write something completely different!

Different from your predicament but then don't these books send us all up different garden paths? The Ancient Greeks would have us believe their many gods are playing with us.

Many, many congratulations, Alex.

201765 Write something? Oh how very kind. I'll have a go, though my mind is currently blank, er... er... Back later!

201765 Hey, Alex! You're doing really well with this and it's just the beginning. Go for it, boy, and enjoy. (See, if I use the word 'boy', it rhymes.)
201765 Babies! Oh my giddy aunt! No, no, no. Though I'm enjoying Lucy's little lad and I hope you will too.

I sometimes compare authors' lives to being similar to a roller coaster, you get going on a flat bit then up and up, then plummet down, then another little bump in sales, then... and so on. However, I think there's many an author who'd agree that yours is more true to life.

Hang on a minute... I've just looked at your sales of Songbird and you have a KCD on and you're up pretty high in the US charts and in the UK ones too. Enjoy the view!

201765 Well done, Alex. You sound organized and successful!

And thanks Petra, Carmel, Alex, Amy and Erica.

201765 I feel such a fool. I still haven't got mine in paperback. It's in the diary...

201765 NEWS! GOOD NEWS TOO! Suitable for the 'Something Good...' thread.

BookBub are going to alert my followers. Apparently when they checked on Amazon before, the page count was not showing - just as you suggested, Aislinn.

Phew! I don't have that many followers, but every single one is valued.

201765 Thanks everyone for your thoughts.

It just seems a waste. I was so pleased to think that my few followers would be alerted.

I guess they know their jobs. They're one of the best operated sites around.

The 'why me?' feeling has disappeared now!

201765 It's better news than they gave me, Alex. They declined to tell my followers but gave no specific reason, just a 'read the instructions' type response. I can only think that they thought my Book 3 was part of a bundle. I read the email once, asked for clarification and haven't heard since.
201765 Thank you, Julia!

Hard work this marketing, isn't it? I can't keep up, I feel like a rat, well maybe a guinea pig, running on one of those wheels in their cage.

201765 Thanks, Alex. It's not advisable for me to ignore the family completely!
Mar 31, 2018 12:33PM

201765 I'm sorry I don't belong to Twitter or FB. Just a time thing. Sorry.
201765 I suppose it would help if, when I launch a new book, I put the cover and a link to buying it! Oh the stress...

Here it is:

One Dark Soul (The Dark Moon Trilogy #3) by Anna Faversham
