201765 I have a small press book out and it's on a big promo right now and I've hit 29 in it's genre, beating out Joe Abercrombie, and VE Schwab, and Stephen King, and Diana Gabaldon. It's got me quite buzzy. Though, I don't think I've had that many sales.

It's hard to promo the small press/trad book because I'm not in control of anything, not the price or what not. I asked my publisher to drop the price to 99c for the promo and he agreed. And he has to report to me how many I've actually sold.

But, it's exciting to see my ranking drop.

Alex this is terrible. I'm sorry to hear it. Wishing you and your family health, wealth and joy (If I had magic powers, you would so be in the sweet spot right now.) Take care of you and your family!

201765 I don't read 5* reviews, so it wouldn't hurt me. (I focus on the 3 and 2* reviews when deciding if I want to read a book.) Bask in the glow of the 5*. Hope your readers don't read it too closely! ;)

201765 I was having odd symptoms and the Dr told me it was anxiety... and I'm all, no, I feel fine, except for when I get dizzy, light headed and feel like I want to vomit. He dismissed me.

Then I went to a female natural path and we worked on food allergy things and realized dairy was giving me these symptoms.

Blood tests said I wasn't allergic to dairy, but I quit eating milk products and no more dizziness, shakes, etc.

I guess dairy was giving me anxiety. :P~~

And hugs to everyone struggling with pain and physical disability.

201765 Here Here Annabelle!

I learned on a typewriter, I use two. I work for the government, we still use two in all of our permits and reports. However, when I format for my books to be published, I search and replace the two to be one.

While I'm a stickler for good grammar, I think most readers don't know the rules or don't care. If there are grammar mistakes, I'm totally thrown from the story. I can't help but read as a writer.

201765 Hi all. I've been off Gr/online stuff for a bit and just popping in to Chit Chat the random!

I went to a writing conference that was pretty inspiring. I think when I get into a writerly doldrums I need to talk books with people and then I get excited again. I also had an epiphany that I am not a fast writer and I need to accept that and I need large swaths of time to really get into it.

Hope everyone is doing well and progressing nicely.

As for commas. I think there are total rules about commas and misplaced commas can snatch my eyes (not to say I'm perfect) and pull me out of the flow of the narrative. Just saying!

201765 So, that's odd... but sometimes my spellchecker switches to French and I've NO EFFING IDEA what's possessed it. I run spell check and it gives me French word suggestions.

Ghosts.

201765 It can finally stand up amongst it's brethren!

I am so intrigued about this book. I see it's a #2. I will have to find #1 (I don't think I have it.)

201765 I'm pretty up on British spellings so they don't phase me. You can even set your Word to spell check British instead of American English. Go the way you want! Some readers might be confused, but I bet most will pick up on it. Add a few colours in there and they'll get it faster.

201765 This is a proposal query for a paranormal romance due soon. The book isn't written. Any thoughts/comments I'm open to!

Thanks,
.......

Nicodemus Green graduated from Charing Academy, a sorcerer school, during a cull year—a year the evil sorcerer, Wormwood, emerged and rained down death. Wormwood destroyed Nick’s graduating class, killing most, recruiting a few, and leaving Nick and his best friends with a vengeance to hunt him down.

A decade after that horrible day, Nick and his friends find an old Charing instructor, Byron Domitius, fading away at a haunted manor. Byron, a despised instructor, had been turned into a vampire and in a bout of self-loathing, hadn’t fed for five years.

Following a prophecy to finally bring an end to Wormwood, Nick and Byron must bond by blood. It’s a race against time as the two learn to see beyond their past and work their blooded magic together before Wormwood arises again. During these lessons, Nick finds himself desiring more from his old instructor than just his magic. Are these emotions real, or do they come from the heat of their bond?

Blooded is a paranormal romance wrapped up in dark magic, denied sexual attraction, and the need to find something real.
