I agree!!
Happy to hear it went well though Amy

My dream is to sell enough copies of my books to be able to stay there for like a month.
He.
Okay. A week.
Okay a long weekend.
Okay maybe just long enough to just dip my toes in the water. :p
All of you wonderful people have great advice. But I think, actually I know that by now we all know how this works. Sometimes you’re just looking to VENT. I think, that that is what Aislinn was looking for today. My own input? Sigh. It’s all a question of getting lucky. Being picked by the right reader. The right editor. The right publisher. It’s all just luck.
May we all get lucky as hell soooooooooooooon.
Personally, I’ve been dreaming of a trip to Bora Bora for ages.
Aislinn wrote: "Thanks Anna. Hopefully I'll be able to smile about it tomorrow. For now I'll just be grumpy, I think!"They suck for not giving better feedback!
I am going to follow your example and send my manuscript to some publishers as well. I’m already feeling miserable so it’s the perfect time to do it lol.
Amy wrote: "Sounds like a good start Elina, well done.My husband almost smiled when he saw this cover for my latest novel. It's a very good sign. (Draft copy, hence the Fiverr logo)
What do you think?

I think the spaceship blends into the background a bit too much but I love the title and the colors.
I don’t even know if it’s a good idea or not, but I was writing my epilogue and I was loving it. It’s so sexy and cute and funny and I was like; *grinning* my readers are going to love this shit *grinning*.(I have no readers. I think the flu medicine is making me delirious.)
And then I started a new page in Word and began typing in my Newsletter info and adding text where I plan to beg people to sign up.. and then I thought.. HEEEEYY.
Do you know that moment when you finish a GOOD book and you’re just dying to read more about the characters?
Take me for example. When I finished “Tangled” I immediately went online to see if there was a book 2, a free story, a paragraph on the Facebook page of the author, anything I could get my grubby little hands on. There wasn’t.
So I thought, why not exploit that hunger readers have to read more about the characters they just fell in love with?
So I decided to write something along the lines of ... Do you want to know what happens after “The end”? SIGN UP NOW VIA THIS LINK FOR MY NEWSLETTER AND GET IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO THE EPILOGUE. Don’t worry — I won’t send more than 3 newsletters a year, and each one will contain a fun update on Brooklyn and Nicole. So what are you waiting for? Go sign up and get access to a 2000 words epilogue.
So then the book will link them to the unlock (you gotta sign up for the newsletter to unlock it) page containing the epilogue!
It might piss off some readers, but hey, an authors gotta do what an authors gotta do. Right? Lol.
Aislinn wrote: "Thanks, I'm really miserable about it. I'll try to grieve quickly and move on. No idea what to do with this book, though, since it was written specifically for them."That blows.
Are there things from the book you can recycle for another story for another publisher?
Carole wrote: "Yeah, lol. It surprised me too- I had no idea when I started posting on it. I only saw it as a means for some of my buddies here to pull in a few dollars and perhaps get noticed. Meanwhile, I am n..."
Exactly! Seems like a good place to get discovered by a publisher!
Since I haven’t really been active on here I had no clue about this medium writing thing you guys were doing..I clapped, but I was like, oh my friends got a new hobby, fun. I didn‘t really dive into it or try to find out what you all were doing (in my defense, work has been insane lol)
Then a week ago, I saw Roxane Gay, one of my favorite authors, mention a new collaboration with Medium and I was like.. “Oh Alexis, when will you learn to listen to Carole?”
Anyways, I don’t have the time to write for Medium right now, but I encourage you all to continue doing it. It really does seem to be blowing up with(in) the writing community.
Carmel wrote: "Alexis, I hope you recover quickly....and maybe a few notecards or postits will keep your ideas from slipping away in the meantime. :)"I will definitely do that.
Althought the notes I wrote yesterday turned out to be gibberish this morning lol
Carole wrote: "Keep typing, Alexis!!!!"It’s the flu guys. I woke up with a burning throat.
And guess what?
My characters are still feeding me everything I need to finish this book.
Unfortunately my head hurts too much to write let alone write anything in English.
Boohoo! Lol
I’ve written a lot today (the words are just pouring out — FINALLY!) and theres sooo much more that I want to write but my head has been killing me all day. So annoying.
Carole wrote: "My own blog- I didn't think anybody took notice of it, MJ. There are very few ways left for us to push our brand or books. The only methods left are blogs and magazine articles right now, and Mediu..."Fantastic news, Carole!!! Congrats
Hi Alex,I bet this was hard as fuck to put out there and I hope you’re not having TOO much anxiety about it.
Carole has a good idea regarding gofundme, but personally I’d recommend Patreon to writers. Example: https://www.patreon.com/MindyMcGinnis
That way people can commit to sometimes even $1 a month as a patreon and in return get access to behind the scene things, special blog posts, excerpts of upcoming books, etc etc.
I am patreon to others and I do like the feeling of getting something exclusive in return for my support. :)
Indiegogo is a good option as well.
If you’re going to stick with gofundme, lemme know.
GOOD LUCK KID.
He hee I always wanted to call someone kid.

I think the cover is great; it fits with other coming of age novels that I've read. I think your blurb needs work. It's too long and doesn't really flow. I think that it might be more successful if you shorten it and clean up the sentences a bit.
