Great catch!!!!

The first few books in the series set up the natural enemy, but I feel are more about the fantasy, the world building. What kid wouldn't want to learn how to levitate things? Learn how to make potions? There's plot, but half the time you're just reading about cool magic. I LOVED these books.
One of the greatest things that this book has to offer, I think especially for the YA genre as a whole (though the first few books I would consider "younger" adult I guess), is a flawed and less popular cast of main characters. Harry is short, not described as the most handsome, wears glasses, etc. etc. Hermione has crazy hair and annoys everyone with her know-it-all personality. Ron is a klutz and not the best student. I can't even count how many YA books I've read about a heroine who is an outsider but gorgeous - please spare me - or a heroin who is broody but hott. Come ON. Even if there was no fantasy, these books would be better just because I could relate to these characters in a way I can't with other books.

GO GO GRYFFINDORRRRRR
(p.s. I'm WAYYY behind on the tally, hopefully updating today. thanks for your patience, folks!)

Hard to help from far away, but obviously if there's any way we can help, let us know. This goes out to all our members in TX and LA affected by Harvey.
Have friends who have sent some crazy pictures!!!! And videos of people waterskiing behind trucks driving down the road. Human resilience never ceases to amaze...

just starting now is great! guidance is 1 book per post, but if you're catching up you can post more. Wouldn't do more than 3 books
