I just finished No Such Thing as a Witch 😄 It was really cute! And such a fast read, lol."

Glad you enjoyed it Pony!

All is well, but time is passing by quickly. I haven't quite acknowledged yet that December is half way over.

I did not know there were that many differences! I thought it was just a different layout that some people preferred over GR. I'm trying it out for 2025!

Same here!

189072 Alright, I really need to check out Storygraph now! I love tracking my reading stats.

I have a reading journal that I also use as a creative outlet.

@Laura I looked at an Agatha Christie hard cover pocket size book I have and it says it was bound specifically for a library. And then I googled the binding company and found this: "turtleback, turtle bound, and perma-bound are a specific type of prebinding or rebinding that takes paperback books and fits them with lightweight, plastic-looking, but sturdy covers and reinforced spines."

So this type of binding wouldn't be very common, but I've found some books on the shorter side available in printed hardcover (instead of dust jackets). And I like reading those because they're not heavy.

189072 The majority of my reading is via audiobook, because it's easy to consume and make time for. I listen while I cook, eat, laundry... I literally look for chores to do sometimes so I can listen to an audiobook. I'll do a puzzle, paint, cross-stitch... as well while listening to an audiobook. And audiobooks are mandatory on a road trip!

I'm also addicted to second-hand book shopping. I love old books and newer books at a used/discount price. I always always look for Agatha Christie, wherever I go. I love that she has so many books published with a variety of covers and even different titles. And I read Agatha Christie with my eyeballs whenever possible. I also love old illustrated books and vintage cover art.

I always try to end my day by reading a physical book for at least 30 minutes, but preferably an hour or so. That helps me calm down for bed (unless the book is unputdownable). I prefer reading the pocket-size books, and those are typically paperback but occasionally a thin hardcover.

I will buy full-size hardcover books at the right price, but those can be a pain to read. I don't do ebooks because they don't motivate me to read.

For genre, hands down my most-read is mystery/thriller. But I really enjoy fantasy, especially urban fantasy, rom-coms, and historical fiction as well. Dystopian, adventure, middle grade, humor, retellings... are all also very appealing to my reading taste. A lot of my favorite books are a blend of genres.

189072 We’ll keep it going for Team Emerald! But either way, it’s been a really fun challenge and great interaction with everyone :)

189072 I really enjoyed “No Such Thing as a Witch” by Ruth Chew. I laughed out loud multiple times and instantly wanted to read it again.
