Paul also ran over Liliane and Ellie. He was paying Charlotte back for destroying his career after she exposed him for stealing from her mother and drugging her. He tried to kill Charlotte but Ethan got there in time.

When Cassandra became pregnant, she also became a target. Her half-brother, Ashe, who was Doris’ nephew, helped stage her abduction and brought her to Rabun County to the family’s old summer cabin. Britt was unaware of the plan and her mother’s diabolical relationship with Blake. Blake found out about Ashe and killed him. He accidentally killed Gretchen, thinking she was Britt.
